Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) rally at Cariappa Ground in the national capital on Friday.

PM Modi addressed the cadets, saying, "Today, when the country is moving forward with new resolutions, our efforts are to strengthen the NCC in the country. For this, a high-level review committee has been set up. In the last two years, over one lakh new cadets were added in the border areas of the country".

Noting the female participation involvement, he said, "now the nation's daughters are taking admission in Sainik Schools. Women are being given more responsibilities in the army. The daughters of the country are flying fighter planes in the Air Force. This is the change India is witnessing today. We should ensure that more and more women are included in the NCC".

PM Modi addressed the youngsters by stating, “we all need to connect with the roots of India. We can change India's future with your determination and support. Drug addiction destroys the life of youngsters, we need to fight against this".

He inspected the Guard of Honour, saw NCC contingents perform a March Past, and watched NCC cadets demonstrate their talents in army action, slithering, microlight flying, parasailing, and cultural programmes.

The Prime Minister also awarded medals and batons to the top cadets. The rally, which takes place every year on January 28, is the finale of NCC Republic Day Camp.
