In a First Women Cops to serve on Night Duty in Jammu

Female constables have been positioned at important checkpoints throughout Jammu to serve their duties on the night shift to protect women and keep an eye on female drug peddlers, according to the officials.

The officials claimed that this is the first time that female constables had been sent out to take over the night.

A female head constable mentioned that They are deployed at various checkpoints in the city to make sure about the safety and protection of women at night.

The constable of the department, Anita stated that female cops have been sent out at night for the verification of women during night time.

According to sources, under the new system in the city, around 50 to 60 female constables have been assigned to duty alongside male police officers.

The female cops have been placed at the entry and exit points of Jammu in the first phase. In the second phase, they will serve their duties in the rural areas of Jammu. The initiative has been acknowledged by the women residents of the area. Some of the residents said that this initiative is a great help for the women who go for late-night duties and at times they face unwanted situations on the roads.
