By: WE Staff | Monday, 9 May 2022
The Women Startup Programme (WSP) Graduation Day was held on the campus of the Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM-V).
Fin Lit Project CEO Neha Mishra, an IIT-Madras alumna, spoke at the event as the keynote guest and described success as 99 percent execution and 1 percent idea. She claimed that the finest investment one could make was in the people in one's immediate environment, and that everything else would fall into place with hard work and perseverance.
Despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Program Director Mohammed Shameem Jawed praised the graduating entrepreneurs and recognized them as an exceptional cohort that reached more milestones than its predecessors. He discussed the IIM-important V's partnerships and cooperation. There were around 20 startups that graduated from this batch.
IIM-V Director M. Chandrasekhar spoke during the event and emphasised the importance of the three "P's": patience, passion, and perseverance. He also discussed the IIM-recent V's accomplishments.
Some of the WSP's entrepreneurs shared their stories. All is Well founder Harshita Lalchand said, “Hard work, patience, and belief helped me in my journey as an entrepreneur. The right guidance and mentorship from the IIM-V-Foundation for Incubation, Entrepreneurial Learning and Development (FIELD) have helped my vision to transform into a reality.”
“Sincerity and the support from all the IIMV-FIELD mentors have enabled me to cross all hurdles,” stated Shruthi Ajmera Reddy, founder of Hapup.
Aruna Gali, the founder of School Radio, discussed how she surmounted challenges in her path to entrepreneurship. Aparna, the founder of Vidh-Ya, emphasised the value of having a vision, determination, and self-belief in one's own abilities.
P.B. Srinivas, an alumnus of IIT-Madras and IIM-Calcutta, and D. Harsha Vikas, an alumnus of NIT-Warangal and IIM-Bangalore, led the IIM-V FIELD team in congratulating the graduating entrepreneurs.
With seven flagship programmes, the IIM-V FIELD is one of India's fastest expanding incubators. According to a statement released by the IIM-V, 46 of the 60 enterprises it has nurtured are led by women entrepreneurs.
