Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India, successfully completes Phase III of Livelihood Support Programme benefiting 453 rural women from Tamil Nadu. The Livelihood Support Programme, that works with a focus on the development of women and thereby augmenting their economic empowerment, has helped participants from Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Ranipet together earning over Rs 6.30 crore.
Launched in 2020, the program was designed to support around 5,000 rural women in terms of employability skills, resources, and income-generating opportunities. This is in an effort to promote economic independence and sustain livelihoods, where women can make meaningful contributions toward their families and communities.
A special event was held in the form of celebration of completion of the third phase with the Best Performance Awards presented by Madhan Raj T N, Vertical Head-Management Accounting, Hyundai Motor India Ltd to outstanding women beneficiaries. This programme was done in partnership with the NGO 'Hand in Hand India' through which the organization had also helped in delivery of trainings and access to necessary resources for the women participants.
This initiative reflects the commitment of Hyundai Motor India Foundation to women empowerment, along with societal development and improvement through effective and sustainable interventions. Equipping the women and opening doors of opportunity has not only promoted their livelihoods but also changed the economies and welfare of most communities.
HMIF upholds a positive influence on the livelihoods of rural women with respect to economic growth from the localities.
