Hunar Online Courses, the premier skill-tech platform focused on empowering women through skill upgradation and economic independence, recently organized India's biggest virtual graduation ceremony to honor the achievement of more than 10,000 students from 28 states in India.
The grand gala event confirmed Indian homemakers, young women, and working professionals who had gained skill-based training in fashion, food, and beauty on the platform of Hunar. The event emphasized the life-changing potential of online learning as well as the emerging role of women as entrepreneurs.
They were joined by experienced fashion designer and Hunar mentor Neeta Lulla and actor, businesswoman, and Hunar partner-investor Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Both of the women cited their pride and admiration for the graduates and their outstanding achievements.
Hunar has developed a successful network of more than 3 million women, with 30 percent of students now earning more than ₹50,000 per month, proving the effect of low-cost, skill-based education.
Hunar even presented awards, and honors, and start-up funding to top graduates, to help support their journeys as entrepreneurs. In her special address, Shilpa Shetty said:
“Congratulations to every one of my 10,000 students who have translated their talent into a certified skill and received the national recognition they deserved.”
Nishtha Yogesh, Founder and CEO of Hunar Online Courses, reflected on the platform’s journey:
“We never imagined that one day we’d host India’s largest online graduation ceremony. This milestone affirms our mission to enable Indian women to pursue entrepreneurship and financial freedom through skill-building. With continued guidance and expert faculty, we’re committed to supporting women in starting their careers — all from the comfort of their homes.”
Neeta Lulla, who has guided many of the graduates, said:
"Seeing these women receive recognition for their abilities is truly rewarding. As a mentor, I feel privileged to be along for the ride — from helping them to seeing they thrive."
The event also inaugurated the "Hunar Hamper", an innovative gift box of specially curated products made by Hunar students showcasing handcrafted products in fashion, food, and home decor. This is an effort to encourage women-led domestic brands and applaud their craftsmanship.
Students gave very emotional testimonies that clearly demonstrated how proud they were of their accomplishments:
"We began learning from home and today, we are being recognized in front of thousands. Hunar didn’t just give us skills; we learned to be strong and independent women."
