HUDCO Concludes ITEC Leadership Training for Women

Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) has successfully conducted the 62nd Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) training program on "Leadership Skills for Women" in New Delhi. The 14-day training program sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs has imparted leadership and professional skills to 24 women professionals from Iraq.
The event was an effort to boost India’s global presence in the fields of capacity development and women empowerment. This program, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, was held at HUDCO’s HSMI Hostel, Asian Games Village Complex from 18–30 June 2026.
This intensive program brought together professional women from Iraq, offering them a platform for developing their leadership skills and networking.
This programme was well-designed for ensuring that the individuals would be able to develop their leadership potential through provision of the right information, practical wisdom, and strategies necessary to enable them to act more responsibily in their organizations and communities. This was done through the provision of a well-rounded curriculum focused on leadership development, gender balance, strategic decision making, capacity building, organizational leadership, and cross cultural learning.

ITEC Programme, led by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has furthered India's efforts towards international development through capacity building, knowledge exchange, and institutional collaborations around the world.
The programme nurtures the next generation of leaders by equipping participants with advanced leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making expertise. The program gives impetus to women gain skills that are internationally recognized and establish international connections. This not only results in strong institutions and socio-economic development but is also an effort at gender inclusion and sustainable socio-economic development for partner countries.
In a period of two weeks, numerous professional women underwent targeted training program aimed at developing leadership skills, gender inclusive leadership and decision making.
With HUDCO's ongoing efforts, the organization further establishes itself as a significant knowledge partner in India’s international development work through its capacity-building programs for professionals around the world. With the help of its established centers of training and well-structured knowledge sharing activities, HUDCO works on building skills related to urban planning, infrastructure management, good governance, and leadership. This program is a feather added in the cap of HUDCO in terms of developing global relationships, institutional capacity building, and women’s leadership.
The valedictory function celebrated the success of the program in the presence of Sanjay Kulshrestha, Chairman & Managing Director, HUDCO; M. Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning), HUDCO; and Oday Hatim Mohammed, Chargé d'Affaires, Embassy of Iraq.
In the concluding session, these eminent personalities stressed the importance of the involvement of women leaders in promoting inclusive, equitable, and sustainable development. They advised the participants to practically use their new knowledge and skills of leadership to bring change in their organization, institution, and community while fostering cooperation between India and Iraq.
