HC Launches campaign of special awareness push on Gender Sensitization and Sexual Violence Prevention

The High Court of J&K and Ladakh Judge and Chairperson of the Sexual Harassment Probe Committee, Justice Sindhu Sharma, launched an aggressive campaign of special awareness on gender sensitization and sexual violence prevention with a focus on sexual harassment of women at work under the slogan "Speak -Prevention Drive against Sexual Predation through Empowerment, Awareness and Knowledge" at Nari Niketan, R. S. Pura Jammu.
Commissioner Secretary for Social Welfare Sheetal Nanda Sehzad Azeem, Director of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh's Judicial Academy, Legal Services Authority J&K Member Secretary M K Sharma On the occasion, Prem Sagar, Member Secretary Sexual Harassment Probe Committee, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Yahya Firdous, Secretary DLSA Jammu, Arusa Choudhary, Chairperson TLSC R. S. Pura and the Members of Committee including Sr. Advocate U K Jalali, officers of local government, Social Welfare Department, and Police were also present.
Swati Gupta, CJM Kathua, who served as the program's resource person, presided over the proceedings.
Anganwadi workers, UMEED volunteers, college students, High School students, members of One Stop Center, Mahila Shakti Kendra, and NGOs attended the programme.
With a focus on sexual harassment of women at work, encouraging victims to come forward, and the necessity for its grassroots implementation, Justice Sindhu Sharma emphasised the programme and plan.
The High Court of J&K and Ladakh organised the launch push in association with the Department of Social Welfare, and it would be repeated in each of the districts in the province of Jammu.
