- "Gulab Bari" is the first women's Holi celebration in Delhi, hosted by Ardee Racquet Club and Times Prime
- The festival provides a flower-themed festival experience
Ardee Racquet Club, in collaboration with Times Prime, introduces "Gulab Bari" – Delhi’s inaugural women-only Holi celebration, offering an innovative flower-themed festival experience. Taking place on in New Friends Colony, the event transforms the area into a vibrant floral wonderland, providing women with a safe and sophisticated alternative to traditional Holi festivities.
Inspired by Spain's world-famous Tomatina Festival but with a distinct Indian flair, Gulab Bari substitutes chemical colors for eco-friendly flower petals and chandan, designing an environmentally friendly festival that mixes tradition with modern-day values.
"We imagined a place where women could celebrate Holi with no restrictions – feeling freedom, security, and unadulterated joy," says the event curator. "Gulab Bari is not just a festival; it's a movement that honors female empowerment through our heritage."
The four-hour spectacle has in store a sensory experience complete with Phoolon Ki Holi: Classic color-throws reinvented with scented, eco-friendly flower petals Sacred Chandan Rituals: Ancient sandalwood paste rituals modified for a modern-day celebration Exclusives Musical Journey: A handpicked playlist by celebrated artist Neha Bhasin comprising both classic and contemporary festival sing-alongs Women-Owned Marketplace: Pop-up stores featuring local women entrepreneurs and artisans.
"Where women's freedom to party is often limited, Gulab Bari is a reminder of what can be achieved when we value tradition as much as we value progress," says a representative from City Girls Who Walk, Delhi.
