Indian entrepreneur Gopal Dash Baghel has announced the launch of MakeMyBiryani, a platform for the delivery of home-cooked food that seeks to promote women’s financial independence by utilizing their culinary skills to create viable opportunities for earning a livelihood.

The platform was co-founded by Jasbir Kaur and seeks to create a network of home cooks across India and connect them to urban foodies who want to consume healthy and authentic food cooked at home.

Gopal has over 25 years of experience in finance, administration, corporate consultancy, and sports management.

He plans to utilize his experience to create a network of home cooks who can utilize structured operational systems and technology platforms to create a network of food entrepreneurs.

“In many Indian homes, the kitchen has always been a space of care, tradition, and skill. The talent of home cooks has always stayed confined to the family. We want to offer women, especially homemakers and senior citizens, a platform for financial independence with minimal investments.”

MakeMyBiryani will be a cloud kitchen model that allows women to cook from their own kitchens and manage their own schedules.

The platform will specialize in authentic Indian recipes that use fresh vegetables and high-quality ingredients while ensuring high hygiene standards. This will offer a healthier alternative to the usual food served by food delivery services and a reliable tiffin service for daily meals at home.

The simplicity of the idea was highlighted by Jasbir, co-founder: “The beauty of the idea is that we’re bringing highly skilled women cooks from all over India and connecting them to people who want food that tastes like mom’s cooking at home.”

MakeMyBiryani will also offer training to the women who use the platform in food safety, packaging, digital technology, and recipe standardization.

The platform will also help create a community for women entrepreneurs by promoting collaboration between women. The combination of traditional food and technology will help create a new food delivery model while offering great economic opportunities for women in India.
