By: WE Staff | Tuesday, 8 August 2023

The online business education 10,000 Women from Goldman Sachs and the incubator NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore introduced Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Finance for Growth on Monday. The new program will give female business owners or entrepreneurs a better understanding of business finance and give them networking and mentoring opportunities to advance their fundraising process. The new program has been created in response to research conducted among more than 2,400 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women graduates in India. The majority of female business owners had emphasized the need for a deeper knowledge of the available funding options and the best ways to access external capital to accelerate the expansion of the business.

According to a recent survey conducted, 33 per cent of female entrepreneurs take funding from their family or friends, 38 per cent take business loans, and 40 per cent use bank overdrafts.

This program has provided a positive impact on India's economy by quadrupling their business revenue, increasing their workforce, and also providing 12,000 new job opportunities, says Charlotte Keenan, the Global Head of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women.

The programme will comprise three distinguished modules. At first, the participants need to complete an introductory finance course which is available at Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Graduates in India. Next, a group of high-potential Women entrepreneurs will be given access to the second advanced finance module. Lastly, the participants will be provided individual mentoring from the IIMB Faculty members, financial industry experts, bankers, venture capitalists, and angel investors on real-world lessons and suggestions that need to be implemented for each entrepreneur.

Anand Sri Ganesh, COO of, NSRCEL mentioned that they hope the female alumni would take advantage of this chance to identify and cultivate new business opportunities and create and expand their businesses as well.
