Godrej Properties Launches CREW, National Collective for Women in Real Estate

Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL), one of the most recognized brands in the real estate sector of India, introduced CREW (Collective of Real Estate Women) which is a nationwide initiative aimed to support and facilitate women in real estate, construction, and allied sectors. This is a platform that aims to help women professionals by making such inclusive company business policies which will be based on some internal research of around 500 women including present and past employees of Godrej Properties.

The launch event, which was held in Mumbai, was graced by prominent speakers such as Arundhati Bhattacharya, who is the Chairperson & CEO of Salesforce, and Parmesh Shahani who heads Godrej DEI Lab, who significance of enhancing female representation in the real estate industry. A panel discussion on “Women in Leadership” emphasized the need to put the option of flexibility in a place where women can easily reach it to stay in the workforce.

Pirojsha Godrej, the Executive Chairman of Godrej Properties, confirmed the company's pursuit of women representation in the industry as his firm's top priority. He said that with the aim of promoting women's participation in the workforce, improving their labor force participation rates in India is a very important economic and social priority, and he intends to CREW this by engaging actively with academia, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.

During his presentation, Gaurav Pandey, MD and CEO of Godrej Properties talked about CREW as the cornerstone of the company's broader objective of developing a diversity-conscious and inclusive real estate sector. The goal of this program is not only to get women into leadership roles but also to make certain that they succeed in these positions. The goal of this initiative is to inspire and lead a future where the industry is filled with a rich diversity of talent and transforms the industry.

Megha Goel, CHRO of Godrej Properties, stressed that going ahead CREW will become a desired place for women to voice their questions and concerns and bring women on board into the traditionally male-dominated construction industry. Insights from the “Project Woolf” internal analysis emphasize the importance of establishing a compassionate and supportive workplace, which will be at the heart of our initiatives aimed at increasing women's engagement and representation.

The CREW launch stands out as a huge move not only for the industry but also for women's empowerment and inclusion. Through the establishment of a supporting environment, Godrej Properties pursues the goal of setting a new benchmark for the sector with the intent of creating equal opportunities for women and active participation at all levels.
