G20 EMPOWER & WEP launch Mentoring Platform for Female Entrepreneurs

G20 EMPOWER and the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) have joined forces to launch the WEPmentor platform, which will increase mentorship programs for female entrepreneurs around the world. According to a statement released on Tuesday by the industry group FICCI, the digital initiative was unveiled in August. Accelerating women's leadership and empowerment in the private sector is a key objective of G20 EMPOWER (G20 Alliance for the Empowerment and Progression of Women's Economic Representation), which includes participation from both the public and private sectors.

WEP is a platform created by NITI Aayog to unite women from all over India and create an environment that will enable them to realize their potential.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development supports WEPmentor, which provides scalable and personalized mentorship opportunities and aims to boost to economic participation of women entrepreneurs both early and stage enterprises.

Personal mentorship sessions, skill-specific workshops, P2P initiatives, and organizations-led mentorship are the four mentorship programs that are offered by WEPmentor to women entrepreneurs. Additionally, the program will collaborate with academic institutions, business associations, and other resources to offer a full range of mentorship resources.

On the ongoing efforts made to promote a robust women entrepreneurship ecosystem in India, the launch of this collaboration will work as a catalyst, says Anna Roy, Mission Director, Women Entrepreneurship Platform, and Senior Advisor at NITI Aayog.

74 per cent of female business owners actively seek mentorship and guidance for their ventures, and those who receive can see significant growth in their businesses, mentions a recent Microsave Consulting and WEP study.
