Flipkart & S M Sehgal Foundation Launch Phase 2 of Initiative to Empower Children & Women

• Flipkart Foundation has announced a partnership with the S M Sehgal Foundation
• This launch is the second phase of the Fostering a Green Future initiative
• The project is focused on giving the ability to the children and the women to be Eco conscious

The philanthropy arm of Flipkart Group, Flipkart Foundation, has recently collaborated with S M Sehgal Foundation, a rural development organization, to introduce the second phase of the program called Fostering A Green Future empowering children and women with eco-consciousness.

The initiative targets to empower these community members and make them champions for environmental change in their household and beyond. It is assumed that 2,600 people will be affected directly by the actions, 1,000 of whom are women, while the reach of the project will be 13,000 people in general.

There will also be a part of our work directed at raising awareness about sustainable agriculture, methods to prevent residue burning, and the programs for environmental conservation. A pre-assessment and a follow-up assessment is to be held in order to understand the impact of the project and ensure its effectiveness.

The project will benefit 2,600 people directly, 1,000 of whom are women, and have a total outreach of 13,000 people. Awareness programs on sustainable agricultural practices, solutions to crop residue burning, and community-led environmental conservation will be conducted. Pre and post-study measurements to assess the impact and ascertain behavioral change in local communities will also be undertaken by the initiative.

In the last year, Flipkart Foundation worked across states such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, touching under-served communities and ensuring change that lasted.
