First Female, Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim; joins as SALAMAs Board of Directors

The leading supplier of Shari'ah-compliant Takaful products in the UAE, SALAMA, selected Mrs. Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim as the company's first female board member.

Following the annual general meeting (AGM) of the firm, Islamic Arab Insurance firm (SALAMA) announced the appointment of a new chairman and vice chairman to the board of directors, as well as a distinguished board of directors for a duration of three years. The first female board member of SALAMA was also appointed at the AGM.

Saeed Mubarak Rashed Saeed Alhajeri received the chairperson, while H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz AlShehhi received the vice chairmanship.

Saeed Mubarak Rashed Saeed Alhajeri, H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz AlShehhi, Mr. Ajit Vijay Joshi, Mrs. Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim, Mr. Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad al Sadah, and Mr. Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi make up the new board of directors.

The nomination of the first female board member of SALAMA, which is a significant milestone, reflects the UAE's efforts to enhance gender diversity and advance women in leadership roles.

It is an honour for H.E. Saeed Alhajeri to lead the SALAMA board of directors as its new chairman. H.E. Alhajeri is well-known and esteemed in the field of international finance and has over 27 years of experience there. H.E. Alhajeri, who also serves on the board in the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi, is familiar with governmental institutions in these countries. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College in the United States. Due to his noteworthy contributions to the public and financial sectors in the United Arab Emirates, the World Economic Forum named him one of the top 250 Young Global Leaders in 2007.
