Varuna Anand has appointed to two important national positions within the FICCI Ladies Organisation, which will enhance her efforts to support women empowerment and women entrepreneurs and India's traditional crafts industry. The National Initiative Head for Textiles, Handlooms & Handicrafts position and the National Governing Body Member position for the 2026–2027 periods will define her work responsibilities.

Puja Garg, the 43rd National President, appointed her to this role as she has dedicated herself to advancing women-led development while creating sustainable jobs and safeguarding India's textile heritage. Anand, who works as a textile designer, has played an essential role in reviving the Kashmiri shawl weaving tradition while advancing traditional craft methods.

In her new national role, she will focus on building a strong and inclusive ecosystem for Indian textiles, handlooms, and handicrafts. She will establish three main objectives which involve helping women artisans and developing women-owned businesses and creating new marketing paths for rural craft communities. She will create new ideas which will help her protect India's diverse cultural traditions.

Her primary duties will center around developing links between local artisans and self-help groups and women-owned businesses throughout India. She intends to generate sustainable job possibilities while increasing the global presence of Indian handicrafts through her work. The FICCI FLO network which includes more than 15000 female members through its 21 chapters will benefit from this initiative which promotes women's empowerment programs.

Varuna brings strong leadership experience through his five years as a Governing Body Member in the FLO Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter. She held the Chairperson position during 2023–24 while she previously worked as National Initiative Head for Partnerships and Collaborations until 2025–26 which demonstrates her active participation in major business projects.

She expressed gratitude for her new responsibilities while confirming her dedication to developing India's textile and handicrafts industry and helping women artisans and supporting sustainable economic growth for female business owners throughout the nation.
