Female Hygiene Product Demand is Skyrocketing, Assiduus Report
By: WE Staff | Thursday, 1 September 2022
According to a recent Assiduus report, female hygiene products are in high demand on Amazon.com. This has always aided in raising awareness of female hygiene in the nation. According to the report, the menstrual cup category increased from 28% to 30% over the previous two years due to an increase in demand.
In this regard, Assiduus has assisted eco-friendly D2C businesses in the female hygiene market, such as StoneScoup (18%) and Amtrue (12%), to experience notable sales growth. The business is committed to helping its partners begin their businesses, expand them, and demonstrate visible growth across all e-commerce markets. It is a steadfast backer of cutting-edge companies that work to offer sanitary protection goods in a sustainable style, such as menstrual cups and reusable cloth pads.
The report noted a significant increase in female hygiene awareness, but also noted that there is still much room to improve women's intimate health. 60% of the 170 women who responded to the poll from metro areas who were unwilling to use a menstrual cup cited discomfort as their main objection, followed by a lack of knowledge. Additionally, 44% of users claimed to purchase sanitary items online, while 11% claimed to use menstruation cups.
Additionally, 50 percent of the 150 women surveyed from tier-2 and tier-three cities said that they would be open to using menstruation cups. Menstrual cups are more popular among women in non-metropolitan cities than sanitary pads since they are less expensive.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Somdutta Singh, CEO & Founder, Assiduus, said, “As a responsible and conscious corporate entity, our company has always been at the forefront of women empowerment. In that same spirit, we consciously chose to support brands that are offering eco-friendly and sustainable solutions in the female hygiene space to stir some much-needed awareness regarding women’s intimate health. This is the main objective behind onboarding brands that offer sustainable and affordable menstrual cups for women. The fact that we previously had a brand that produced customized period-time panties is testament to our commitment towards providing every woman with meaningful solutions that she truly deserves.”
Due to the lack of mainstream promotion, there are many obstacles that prevent the marketing of sustainable and environmentally friendly feminine hygiene products. E-commerce accelerators like Assiduss should support D2C brands to encourage more innovation in this crucial market. Additionally, the government should offer incentives to companies that make environmentally friendly sanitary products like menstruation cups and pads, as well as extend these products at discounted prices to women who live in remote areas.
