
ESIC Medical College, Ludhiana Launches Women's Health Campaign

ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, recently launched the "Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan" that is a nationwide campaign under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The campaign is for women's health as the foundation of family and community health. It is being done till October 2 and offering screenings, maternal care, and wellness education, putting hospitals at the center of care and awareness.
The program was inaugurated by Mayor Inderjeet Kaur, emphasizing the importance of preventive health and lifestyle. Dean Dr. Inder Pawar spoke about the role of education and empowerment, while Medical Superintendent Dr. Aparajita D'souza emphasized the role of women's health in sustaining families.
The hospital campus had women of various segments visiting, many for the first time,
Kamlesh Devi, a 45-year-old homemaker, was screened for breast cancer and felt happy taking steps for herself.
Rupinder Kaur was getting shots for her children and taking a maternal care session and noticed more awareness of the need for follow up check-ups during pregnancy.
Shabnam, who worked in a garment factory, received a screening for anemia, supplements, and nutrition counseling based on her ongoing weakness.
Dr. Himani and Dr. Arshdeep, nodal officers, noted that the program is here and inclusive and is intended to build awareness and confidence, in addition to medical care.
With this campaign, ESIC Ludhiana sets the connection between women's health and overall community health, efforts set to continue making impact throughout the two-week duration.
