Empowering Women Worldwide: She Is Tech Conference Returns for Second Edition
By: WE Staff | Wednesday, 16 October 2024
Intellias will host the second annual She Is Tech Conference with the support of UN Women. This global event is dedicated to women in the tech industry. In the first edition, the conference attracted over 2000 leading women tech professionals and featured more than 50 speakers from around the world. This October, She Is Tech will span two days to accommodate an even larger audience.
The goal of She Is Tech is to explore and share innovative best practices and solutions for enhancing gender diversity within the tech industry and beyond. By fostering open discussions, female leaders and specialists in technology, recruitment, professional development, employee experience, and talent management will collaborate to develop effective strategies for creating a more inclusive and equitable environment.
“At Intellias, our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) drives us to continuously improve our workplace for women and address the gender gap in the tech industry. Since endorsing the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in 2021, we have made significant strides in this direction. The inaugural conference marked our first major opportunity to connect with talented and ambitious women leaders. We are deeply inspired by its success and are committed to continuing our mission of harnessing and uniting the power of women in tech.” – Regina Viadro, SVP Global Head of Digital Technology Services, President of NA at Intellias
The first day of the conference (October 23) will be dedicated to workshops. Throughout the day, experts in mentorship and career coaching will share valuable insights and practical tips to help women elevate their presence and impact in the tech industry.
The second day will feature three thematic stages, each covering a diverse range of topics:
- Workplace Stage: Focuses on gender-sensitive recruitment, learning, mentoring, professional development for women, equal pay, equal parenthood, menopause, and more.
- Leadership Stage: Features discussions on leadership journeys, breaking the glass ceiling and sticky floor, insights from various leadership teams, stories of women founders, and experiences of women entrepreneurs.
- Tech Stage: Brings together inspiring women experts who have made significant strides in groundbreaking technologies to share their experiences, insights, and stories of innovation.
This year’s conference features a distinguished lineup of speakers from around the globe, including Jaswandi Sakpal, Director of Engineering at American Express; Priya Kanduri, CTO at Happiest Minds Technologies; Klara Krieg, AI Program Manager at Bosch; and Christina Stathopoulos, Founder of Dare to Data. You can view the full list of speakers here.
“We are thrilled to support the She Is Tech Conference for the second time. The debut event not only showcased inspiring stories from female experts around the globe but also fostered a supportive environment for sharing experiences and advancing gender equality. We are confident that this year’s conference will continue to inspire us and strengthen our commitment to closing the gender gap in tech.” – Sabine Freizer-Gunes, UN Women Representative.
The conference is free of charge, though registration is required. Participants will have access to the conference broadcast and opportunities to network in the She is Tech Hub.
