Dr. Bharti Kashyap receives the IMA Appreciation Award

In a formal ceremony held at the IMA Bhawan in New Delhi today, renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Bharti Kashyap was presented with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Appreciation Award by Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, the organization's president.
The President of India awarded Dr. Bharti Kashyap the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2018 in recognition of her work to eradicate cancer among women and protect the vision of the impoverished, particularly children.
The national IMA had given Dr. Bharti Kashyap the Dr. Jyoti Prasad Ganguly Memorial Award in 2021, the Women Empowerment Award in 2018, the Doctor of the Year Award in 2017, and the Made Achiever Award in 2014.
Dr. Kashyap has long been renowned for both her work in medicine and social work. She has devoted her life to ensuring the safety of women's and children's health in Jharkhand's tribal regions.
The Jharkhand Module for the Cervical Cancer Free Jharkhand Campaign was created by Dr. Kashyap and used by the State Government. She embraced Part III of the WHO's Cervical Cancer Elimination Policy 2030 and created a workable, simple-to-follow Jharkhand Module, enabling the state of Jharkhand to meet 50% of its target for cervical cancer screening in 2021–2022.
More than 20 lakh underprivileged and tribal children of Jharkhand who attend government schools have benefited from her NABH Accredited Super Specialty Eye Hospital in Ranchi, which she established as part of the Vision for Jharkhand Campaign. Hundreds of kids with cataracts have had operations and been allowed to return to school.
The first corneal transplant in Bihar and Jharkhand was performed by Drs. Bharti Kashyap and BP Kashyap. The busiest eye bank in Bihar and Jharkhand, Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank, was created by her.
