Women Entrepreneurs Reimagining Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprises (We Rise) campaign culminated with DP World and NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) honouring 10 women entrepreneurs for their contribution towards establishing export-worthy enterprises recently.

From a national pool of applicants consisting of more than 600 entrepreneurial women, the selected top 10 displayed remarkable business acumen, scalability, and market worth allowing women-led businesses to be a part of India’s success trade story.

The campaign was designed to help women entrepreneurs gain the necessary skills and knowledge for developing their ventures to enter international markets. The program offered its beneficiaries mentorship from industry professionals, specific training sessions, and online learning materials.

Key Highlights:

  • DP World and NITI Aayog honour 10 women entrepreneurs under We Rise
  • Top 10 selected from 600+ applicants for export readiness excellence
  • We Rise equips women-led businesses for global market expansion

With diverse sectors ranging from food products, textiles, handicrafts, beauty, and wellness among others, the companies showcased the increasing economic influence of businesses headed by women in terms of innovation and exports in India.

The learning processes covered crucial areas like brand creation, product packaging, distribution, regulatory compliance, and global market entry among others.

One of the important highlights of the event was an industry panel discussion conducted by Mithali Raj, Hemant Kumar Ruia, and Anna Roy on the changing dynamics of MSMEs headed by women in facilitating the country’s export potential and building its position within the global supply chain.

Pointing out the attributes necessary for success, the former Indian cricket team captain Mithali Raj stated that the accomplishments of these successful women entrepreneurs speak volumes about the very qualities that make a person excel in the world of sports. Mithali said, “As a cricketer, I know that every milestone is earned through preparation, resilience, and the courage to perform when it matters most. The women entrepreneurs celebrated through DP World’s We Rise program have shown that same spirit stepping up, proving their strength, and building businesses ready for the global arena. Their journey reminds us that when opportunity meets determination, futures are not just imagined, they are achieved.”

Women’s enterprises play an instrumental role in the economic development of the country, according to Anna Roy, Programme Director, NITI Aayog, and Mission Director, Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP). “As India strengthens its position within global supply chains, increasing women’s participation in entrepreneurship and trade becomes critical to building a more inclusive and resilient economy. We Rise has been designed as a comprehensive platform that equips women entrepreneurs with the skills, confidence and market orientation needed to scale sustainably and participate meaningfully in global markets.” Anna emphasized.

Hemant Kumar Ruia, Country Manager – Sub-continent (India), DP World added, “Women entrepreneurs are shaping India’s economic future through innovation, job creation and stronger communities. Through We Rise, in partnership with NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform, DP World is helping women entrepreneurs build capabilities, expand networks and access global opportunities. The initiative reflects our commitment to enabling inclusive trade ecosystems and supporting India’s growth through entrepreneurship and innovation.”

In addition to this, the significance of mentorship, infrastructural capabilities, and other facilitators like institutional assistance in helping entrepreneurs grow were also stressed upon. Demonstrating its dedication to entrepreneur development, DP World reiterated its continued support for the finalists in the form of various learning programs and business ecosystems.

We Rise was founded in October 2025 and is aimed at enabling women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and connections required for scaling their enterprises.
