Angela Jain has been announced as the new head of content for Disney+ in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She will start in this role in September 2025. Angela comes from ITV Studios, where she most recently served as the Director of Unscripted in the UK.

Her appointment follows Disney's recent earnings call, during which the company emphasized how important international markets are for growth. They also talked about their plan to invest in local original shows that fit into their global streaming lineup. Over the next four years, Disney+ aims to increase its production of local content in Europe, which will help provide viewers with more diverse and richer options.

Angela will be in charge of Disney’s content plans for the EMEA region, focusing on creating and managing original shows for Disney+. She’ll handle everything from choosing projects and overseeing their production to managing business details and securing branded deals for Disney+ originals. She reports directly to Eric Schrier, who is the president of Disney Television Studios and oversees global original programming.

Angela is stepping down from her role at ITVS, making way for Tim Carter, the CEO of MultiStory Media and Twofour. She has spent the past four years with the company, overseeing 11 local labels that produce documentaries, shows, and entertainment for ITV and other buyers. Recently, there's been a lot of talk about ITVS being involved in mergers and acquisitions. Before that, Jain was in charge of ITV2, where she approved hit series like Love Island, Plebs, The Big Reunion, and Timewasters. She also previously ran E4, bringing popular shows like The Inbetweeners, Misfits, and Dead Set to the screen, along with acquiring series like Glee and The Big Bang Theory.
