In a move to enhance gender diversity and empower women in technical positions, the Hyderabad-based Deliveroo India Development Centre has introduced the 'India Women in Tech' Group. This initiative is a part of Deliveroo's global Women in Tech Employee Resource Group (ERG) and aims to provide support and advancement opportunities for women in technical roles.

The primary objective of the Women in Tech ERG is to assist and facilitate the progress of women occupying technical positions within Deliveroo. By creating a platform dedicated to their development, the company aims to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.

Shubhi Shrivastava, Program Leader at IDC, expressed the belief that empowering women in tech and providing them with a strong support system can drive positive change and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.

The 'India Women in Tech' team comprises a group of enthusiastic and passionate women based at the India Development Centre. Currently consisting of 26 members, the team aims to have proportional representation in various spheres and make significant contributions to Deliveroo's global Women in Tech ERG.

Sashi Somavarapu, Vice President of Engineering and Country Head, of Deliveroo India, highlighted the company's commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment that celebrates diversity and empowers women.
