Deepa Madhavan has been appointed as the India Country Head, according to Genesys. Deepa will continue to build Genesys cloud technologies and engage teams across all functions in Genesys India in her capacity as the country head. From PayPal, where she helped develop, build, and mature its platform solutions, Deepa joins Genesys.
Deepa, who has 25 years of experience managing international engineering and product teams, will oversee, support, and expand the Genesys R&D centre in Chennai, which is the second-largest facility of its sort in the world. Employees that work in product management, professional services, customer care, engineering, finance and sales, and other support roles create ground-breaking technology products for Genesys internationally at the Chennai centre.
Deepa joins us at a time when we are moving forward with our focus on cloud innovation, enhancing customer value, and fostering business growth, according to Stephen Hamill, Managing Director & Vice President, ASEAN & South Asia at Genesys. Deepa is a people-focused leader with the capacity to develop and construct high-performing teams successfully from the ground up. As we continue to take significant steps in experience orchestration and lead the market for experience as a service, we are thrilled to have Deepa on board.
“The next-generation CX technology has the potential to transform business operations if prudently leveraged and executed. Today, customer experience is as vital as a company’s products and services, and the contact centres have evolved into ‘experience centres’ that are leading the way to deliver real-time proactive and predictive outcomes. Joining Genesys at this crucial juncture will allow me to be a part of a company that enables organisations to succeed in today’s experience economy through digital empathy,” said Deepa Madhavan, India Country Head.
Early in her career, Deepa worked in Silicon Valley with firms in a variety of sectors, including telecom and green technology, as well as in consulting. Deepa has extensive experience leading large technical and product teams and has a strong background in the field of technology. She oversaw PayPal's multi-cloud enabled privacy and security infrastructure as a senior director for 13 years, using machine learning to identify consumer data.
Deepa is a representative at prestigious technology forums and conferences like the Grace Hopper Celebration because she is dedicated about assisting women in the IT field to advance and expand their professions. Deepa continues to be a guide to many aspiring women in the technology sector with her Master's in Computer Science from Mills College.
