The Congress party has announced the Pyari Didi Yojana, offering monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 to women in Delhi if they win the upcoming assembly elections. This initiative, modeled after similar schemes in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, aims to counter the Aam Aadmi Party's Mahila Samman Yojana, which promises Rs 2,100 per month to women voters.
DK Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, announced the success of the Pyari Didi Yojana as part of Congress's strategy to regain Delhi support. The Minister mentioned "Today, I am here to launch the 'Pyari Didi' scheme. I am confident that Congress will form the government in Delhi and we will provide Rs 2,500 to women, and it will be decided in the very first meeting of the cabinet - on the same model that we implemented in Karnataka."
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a scheme for women voters in Delhi, the 'Mahila Samman Yojana', offering monthly assistance of Rs 2,100 to registered voters. The scheme has already attracted over 1.3 million individuals, while 150,000 have enrolled for the Sanjeevani Yojana launched by AAP which promises free healthcare to senior citizens.
