Colombia Joins Global Leaders with Adoption of Feminist Foreign Policy

Colombia has officially end up the 8th United States within the global to adopt a feminist foreign policy, aimed toward promoting the rights of women and LGBTQIA groups. The announcement was made by Colombian Foreign Minister Laura Sarabia on the eve of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, as she signed a decree formalizing the coverage, referred to as Política Exterior Feminista (PEF).

Laura emphasized that the circulate must go beyond symbolic movement. “This is every other milestone, but what matters maximum is popping it into concrete action. We need mechanisms for actual participation, more girl’s ministers, and young ladies helping form the course of foreign coverage,” she stated.

The decree is described as "participative, pacifist, and intersectional," and includes an environmental attention—addressing the disproportionate results of weather change on girls and promoting their leadership in conservation and policymaking.
