India's captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, has highlighted the significance of the Women's Premier League (WPL) in India's preparations for the ODI World Cup. She believes the WPL will help players refine their skills and improve their fitness before the World Cup transforming the women's cricket landscape.

The TATA WPL 2025, a five-team tournament in India, will take place from next week, February 14 to March 15. It will consist of 20 league matches and two knockout games. Soon after the WPL, the Indian women's team will have three months before the England bilateral series, two months before the Australia ODIs, and the 50-over World Cup in October.

Ahead of the WPL tournament, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur mentioned, "I think WPL is going to play a very big role because this year we have the ODI World Cup. After the WPL, we have a very good window through which we can work on our fitness and raise our fitness level. I think that gap will really help us to work hard on ourselves."

Mumbai Indians head coach Charlotte Edwards emphasized the team's aggressive approach and the importance of clarity about strengths for players. She emphasized the need for fearless cricket and enjoyment in the game. The Indian team plans to use the WPL as a stepping stone towards success in the ODI World Cup later this year.

Emphasizing the games' nature, coach Charlotte mentions "That's what makes me and Jhulan very happy, the way they have done. I thought we played some fantastic cricket last year, and that's all we can ask for."
