Marking a major milestone in Space Exploration, Blue Origin positions upcoming launch as the first All-Female crewed mission since Valentina Tereshkova’s 1963 flight. The upcoming launch on Monday, April 14 in West Texas at 9:30 a.m. ET, marks company’s 11^th human flight and 31^st overall mission. With lift-off just one week away, a pioneering group of six women, will participate in a ground-breaking all-female commercial spaceflight.

This suborbital journey to the edge of space, is designed to carry passengers beyond the Kármán Line, further positioning Jeff Bezos’ space enterprise at the forefront of commercial spaceflight innovation. The all-female crew is set to participate in New Shepard-31, Blue Origin’s next commercial spaceflight, reinforcing company’s commitment to inclusive exploration initiatives.

The mission is set to carry Katy Perry, Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn. Speaking with Elle magazine in a recent cover story, the New Shephard team confirmed they would be spaceflight-ready in full glam, showcasing a blend of personal expression and professional presence. Blue Origin has been commercializing suborbital space travel since 2021, when its New Shepard spacecraft began crewed missions with Jeff Bezos aboard. Since its debut, the vehicle has flown 10 crewed missions, bringing a total of 52 individuals to the edge of space out of 30 total launches. Its most recent mission occurred in February 2025.

Blue Origin’s New Shepard enables suborbital missions lasts roughly 11 minutes, during which passengers experience weightlessness and observe Earth from beyond atmosphere. While exact cost of the trip remains undisclosed, Blue Origin mandates a $150,000 deposit to initiate a seat reservation.
