Under the auspices of BITS Pilani, the ITS School of Management (BITSoM) in Mumbai has entered into a formal collaboration with the London Business School (LBS) to increase global exposure for its students.
BITS School of Management. BITSoM is powered by the spirit of excellence and entrepreneurial culture that BITS Pilani, an Institution of Eminence, has cultivated over five decades.
The collaboration includes a specially-curated global extension and immersion programme at LBS's London campus. The developing relationship with LBS will strengthen BITSoM's faculty pool, according to the Letter of Intent signed by the two partners. BITSoM and LBS will also look into co-creating an executive leadership programme in India that is exclusively for women leaders.
Speaking on the strategic collaboration, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor, BITS Pilani, and Chairman, Governing Council, BITSoM said “The immersion program will deepen students’ understanding of cross-cultural leadership and expose them to a new wave of entrepreneurial energy. This unique proposition of an Indian MBA with a truly global and multi-cultural flavour, curated for the new age of business, will undoubtedly raise the bar on what is considered to be a premier management education in India.”
“LBS and BITSoM will also explore the possibility of co-creating a joint program encouraging executive education for women leadership. BITSoM is committed to bringing international quality executive education/ exclusively for women leaders in India. Personally, I see this as a significant investment / in changing the landscape of boardrooms in India,” he added.
François Ortalo-Magné, Dean, London Business School, said “We at LBS are keen to help train purpose-driven individuals from diverse backgrounds who are willing to embrace change and embark on a transformative journey with BITSoM. Together, we can have a profound impact on India and the world”.
Students will be able to spend two weeks in London for an immersion programme as a result of the collaboration. The Entrepreneurial Project Lab will run throughout the programme, where students will work in small groups with entrepreneurs to gain insights from their experience and, in turn, offer fresh thinking and new possibilities.
Launched in January this year, BITSoM’s first cohort comprises a mix of fresh graduates and experienced candidates drawn from the top colleges across the country. “BITSoM students will now have the choice to undertake a specially curated two-week immersion program at LBS. The immersion program/ will deepen their understanding of global and cross-cultural leadership and expose them to a new wave of global entrepreneurial energy. This will, no doubt, be an inspiration for exploration. It will enable students to truly embrace a global mindset,” Birla said.
