BGF Names Anita Dougall as Non-Executive Director

As a UK leading most active growth capital investor, BGF has appointed a non-executive director in Anita Dougall, with her entrepreneurial and data expertise addition to their board.
She is a co-founder of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence solutions provider for consumer brands, and serves as her company’s CEO. With over 20 years of experience in developing and managing successful scale-up businesses, she has worked in investment banking at NatWest Markets and as a senior executive at One2One, which is now known as EE.
Her appointment ties in with BGF’s strategy of improving entrepreneurial leadership in non-exec positions and is a follow-up to another appointment in 2024 of Rosaleen Blair CME as a non-executive director. In 2025, Dougall and Sagacity were placed second in The Independent E2E Forum’s ranking of Britain’s most rapidly growing female-led companies.
Speaking on her appointment, Anita said, "My experience in building a successful business focused on data highlighted the need to bring investment, operating expertise, and partnerships together. She added, "BGF’s model of providing capital and support in creating value is especially appealing to entrepreneurs scaling a business."
The appointment announcement arrives at a time when BGF continues to emphasize digital transformation and AI-led innovation in their portfolio of over 350 companies.
The news also arrives at a time when BGF recently pledged to invest £3 billion in high-potential firms in the UK over a five-year period, with an additional £300 million dedicated to female-led firms.
Commenting on this new appointment, Ian Livingston, non-executive chair of BGF, added, “Anita brings a unique combination of experience in data innovation and scaling businesses. His background will prove very helpful in our efforts to support fast-growing companies in the UK and Ireland."
