According to the India Skills Report 2023, Andhra Pradesh is the State with the most people looking for internships, the State with the most women working, and one of the top five States with the highest availability of numerical skills.

The Wheebox National Employability Test (WNET), which was taken by 3.75 lakh people nationwide, is the basis for the report. Its foundation is a collaboration with several academic institutions and organizations. Candidates are put to the exam via WNET for the competencies and abilities required to be employed in a socioeconomic environment that is changing quickly.

The India Skills Report, now in its tenth edition, looks at the strategic overview of India's Skills and Talent Economy by 2030. Deciphering the future of work validates the pattern of hiring early career individuals across 150 corporates in diverse job categories across over 15 sectors.

According to the research, Andhra Pradesh has the largest percentage of internship seekers at 93.50%. The State ranks fourth in the nation for best employability and third for available English-language skills.

The State has reportedly made improvements to its social, industrial, and technological infrastructure during the past four years, and it now ranks fourth in terms of the proportion of employable young people, with a figure of 65.57%.

To improve employability in the State, the 2014-founded Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is encouraging skill-building initiatives. The PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) activities have been supported by money from the State and Central governments, which has contributed to the program's enormous success in the State.

AP is one of the top five states with employable resources between the ages of 18-21 and 26-29, with a youth employability score of 64.36% for the age range of 22-25 this year. Andhra Pradesh is one of the top five States with highly skilled talent in various sectors, with candidates from that State scoring above 60% in the BE/B.Tech and ITI, M.Sc, and BCA fields.

Andhra Pradesh was one of the top three States with the greatest supply of employable talent from 2017 to 2019. But, in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, this was not the case. The top five States where employers chose a pay of Rs 2.6 lakh and more were also found to include Andhra Pradesh.

The majority of female test-takers favour the State of Andhra Pradesh. According to a survey, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh are among the top states for having English as a second language, fostering a diverse and attractive talent market on a worldwide scale. In terms of the highest talent concentration for both highly employable male and female resources, Andhra Pradesh came in at number four.

Kurnool, whose users scored above 60% in WNET, was among the top 10 cities with the greatest employability at the same time. On the other side, the top 10 cities with the most readily available skilled labour were Ghaziabad, Tirupati, Kurnool, Mangalore, Bellary, Udupi, Mumbai, and Pune.

The report's conclusion said that there is a lot of opportunity to seize in the next year as a sharp increase in employability for both men and women has been observed in various cities of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa, and Kerala.

The report concluded that there has been "a significant improvement in the quality and availability of employable talent, notably in the States like Andhra Pradesh, attests to the success of wide government-led upskilling programs like Skill India with the cooperation of other organizations."
