Actress Anushka Sharma is prepared to attend the 76th edition of the famous festival, which will take place in France from May 16 to 27.
The 35-year-old will attend an event honouring women in the film alongside Kate Winslet, who played Rose in Titanic.
The French ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, shared a photo of himself smiling with Anushka and Virat Kohli on Twitter, confirming Anushka's Cannes debut.
“I discussed Anushka's journey to the #CannesFilmFestival and wished Virat and #TeamIndia well for the next competitions”, the tweet stated.
This year at Cannes, two Indian movies—Kennedy by Anurag Kashyap and Agra by Kani Behl—will be shown.
Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, all Bollywood actresses, have previously sat on the jury for the famous French film festival. The film festival's red carpet has seen the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Tamannaah Bhatia walk it.
