  • The partnership is to promote entrepreneurship among women from military families
  • Aims to onboard hundreds of women entrepreneurs from AWWA by 2029

Amazon India and the Army Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at supporting women who are associated with the military to create and expand their businesses on the Amazon platform using an e-commerce approach through entrepreneurial and business development assistance.

The announcement of this partnership took place at the annual Amazon ElevateHER Event, with a goal of onboarding hundreds of entrepreneurs from the AWWA who represent every woman category connected to the military, including spouses of active-duty military members, veterans, surviving spouses of individuals who served in the military, and Veer Naris by 2029.

An initial structured training program will be implemented as part of this partnership to provide training and assistance in areas such as E-Commerce Best Practices, how to Lexas set up and operate within Marketplace Platforms, and how to sell digitally through E-Commerce along with access to Amazon's distribution network (logistics, fulfilment, etc.) and product visibility through the Amazon Saheli Programme (a programme dedicated to supporting Women Owned Companies).

This initiative's goals are to enable Women Associated with Military Families to develop sustainable incomes through Online Commerce, and to assist these women in developing customer relationships from coast to coast.

In addition to onboarding businesses into the programme, product cataloguing & photography assistance, as well as providing access to analytical tools, are provided to entrepreneurs to help them to manage stocks and evaluate performance for informed decisions regarding the growth and improvement of their brands and businesses.
