Amazon India & GAME Sign MoU to Support 25,000 Female Entrepreneurs

By: WE Staff | Tuesday, 27 February 2024

In order to empower 25,000 women artisans and entrepreneurs offering them the tools and resources they need to succeed in the digital economy, specifically in the Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and beyond, Amazon India and the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) have collaboratively signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). They partnered with a focus on supporting the digital growth among Indian Women entrepreneurs.

The female participants will be provided support for their development through a number of initiatives by Amazon India after this MoU. The Saheli program will focus on developing the business capacity by providing free workshops, training, and onboarding support directly to the sellers who are pursuing entrepreneurship. The female participants will be offered practical guidance and assistance about how to market their companies digitally through digital marketing campaigns, performance marketing, optimizing product listings, and also the strategies of advertising.

The Rural Women Entrepreneurs and the artisans will be provided with access to platforms and financial independence that would help them establish sustainable companies in the digital arena of India.

The MoU signed between Amazon India and GAME will work as a catalyst for the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. They collaboratively aim to co-develop and drive growth for the entrepreneurs. Amazon Karigar and Saheli will offer their respective tools and resources without financial support. The initiative will be a part of the commitment to Amazon India's pledge to generate millions of employments by 2030 partnering with other businesses. In addition to this, the women entrepreneurs will receive insightful data-driven statistics to improve their understanding of customers.
