Goa is thriving with a 33 per cent increase in women-led startups, surpassing the national average of 18 per cent. These startups, mostly in the hospitality and service sectors, are leveraging state policies to grow and drive economic expansion, showcasing the resilience and innovation of women in the tech industry. Goa boasts numerous women-led startups such as ASIER Solutions, I-Assist, Blurb Consultancy, and Goenkart Digital World. Make it Happen, Tea Trunk, and Contractzy.
According to the Women in India's Startup Ecosystem Report (WISER), there is a significant 18 per cent increase in women-led startups between 2017 and 2021. The State Department hopes this will inspire future women entrepreneurs. Goa's growing connectivity, infrastructure, incubators, and supportive policies have helped women founders launch their ventures through initiatives like Startup Goa. In order to empower young innovators and women entrepreneurs, SITPC initiates several programmes like Goa Startup Yatra, Masterclasses, Founder's Club, Corporate Startup events, and First Friday.
Dupriya Malladad, Founder of Rachane Engineering Solutions mentions, "Our startup offers solutions tailored to the hospitality sector. The assistance from FiRE Incubation Centre, which concentrates on tourism tech in Goa, along with the events organized by the Goa Startup Mission facilitated networking and provided valuable insights into the local market."
