3-Day event on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao held at GDCW Kathua

A three-day program on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) was inaugurated at the Government Degree College for Women in Kathua, aimed at raising awareness about gender equality through activities like poetry, music, skits, panel discussions, and felicitation of women achievers. The event was organized by the Social Welfare Department Kathua and attracted students, parents, faculty, and surrounding residents, featuring thought-provoking speeches, inspiring performances, and interactive sessions to promote women's empowerment.

The DC of Kathua, Rakesh Minhas inaugurated the event and stated the importance of empowering girls and women, emphasizing the significance of gender equality in sustainable development through the initiative Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He further highlighted the district administration's initiatives to educate and empower girls, ensuring they receive equal opportunities as boys.

The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program showcased women's achievements and resilience through numerous activities. The delegates including academicians and social workers participated in a panel discussion where they addressed the challenges women face in their education and workforce areas. The event aimed to promote an inclusive approach to education and equal opportunities for young girls.

The Principal of Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, Savi Behl, expressed gratitude for the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program and its participants, highlighting its commitment to empowering girls and inspiring societal change.

The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program, a flagship government initiative, promotes gender equality and girl child education. It addresses declining child-sex ratios and encourages wider participation of young females in education.
