1.27 Lakh Women Borrowers Empowered under PEL

The first Sustainability Report, "Doing Well and Doing Good," by Piramal Enterprises Limited has been released for the fiscal year 2023 which recorded a significant advancement in its commitment to sustainability. In FY2023, PEL disbursed ₹6,518 Cr., empowering 1,27,258 women borrowers, underscoring its dedication to financial inclusion. In addition to showcasing the company's efforts to leave a lasting impression on its clients, the community, and the country, the report highlights its contribution to the larger goal of a sustainable and inclusive Bharat.
PEL's commitment to advancing financial inclusion is demonstrated by the variety of products it provides, all of which have a focus on underprivileged people and actively advance financial literacy. This dedication is in perfect harmony with the goals of the people of "Bharat," supporting India's development through alternative investments and enabling medium-sized businesses to become truly scalable within the nation. The key element to it is the advancement of women, who are a vital catalyst for the country.
In order to support women's aspirations and dreams, PEL is focused on its commitment by providing activities to promote social justice and self-reliance. PEL is unwavering in its commitment to upholding women's goals and using lending activities to promote social justice and self-reliance. Women make up 31 per cent of the loan portfolio at the moment. Financial literacy programs and targeted loan disbursement efforts are just two of the initiatives the company has put in place to further accelerate women's development and empowerment in Tier II and III cities.
Piramal Finance is a digital loan processing company that has made significant strides in various sectors, with 31 per cent of borrowers being women and disbursing Rs. 19,000 crores for affordable housing, serving 1,98,000 new customers. Piramal Foundation's Karuna Fellowship program focuses on fostering rural women's potential through women-led development. It provides technology and employable skills, aiming to build financially independent, tech-savvy, future-ready, and compassionate women for constructive contributions to the country.
