"Women's Leadership Crucial for India's USD 5 Trillion Economy Objective"

Rumjhum Chatterjee, former chairperson of CII Northern Region and co-founder of The Infravision Foundation, has emphasized the vital role of women's participation in the workforce and leadership positions in achieving India's goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy.
Chatterjee made this statement at a women's leadership award event where she highlighted that India's economic leap forward depends on increased participation of women in the workforce. She emphasized that as women's participation becomes a mandate, it will significantly contribute to India's aim of reaching a USD 5 trillion economy.
The event, hosted by CII Northern Region, celebrated exceptional women leaders and awarded them for their remarkable contributions. Notable awardees included Renu Sud Karnad, former Managing Director of HDFC Ltd., who received the Lifetime Achievement award, and Ameera Shah, the Promoter and Managing Director of Metropolis Healthcare, who was honored as the Corporate Woman Leader of the Year. Radhika Gupta, the MD and CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management Ltd., was recognized as the Young Corporate Woman Leader of the Year.
Chatterjee emphasized the significance of recognizing and celebrating women leaders, considering them pivotal to India's narrative of progress and development.
This event not only acknowledges the achievements of these outstanding women but also underscores the critical role that women leaders play in driving India's economic growth. It reflects the increasing recognition of the importance of gender diversity and inclusivity in leadership positions across various sectors of the Indian economy.
