There goes a famous saying, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. The true test of one’s character and ability is when challenging life situations arise. The ones who possess the strength, courage and perceptiveness are the ones who can persevere through any of life’s tumultuous waves. They eventually emerge victorious. Sudeshna Banerjee’s life story is a true testament to this phenomenon. Currently a successful business woman and a renowned name in the Project Management & training & project management industry, Sudeshna has overcome several personal challenges in life. It was her will that strengthened her to overcome all odds and emerge as a victorious business leader.
Her professional journey began as a school teacher, however serendipity and encouragement from fellow professional Prosenjit Dutta, led the duo to establish PS Digitech, a project management & engineering services company in 2007. The Kolkata based firm has so far successfully worked on projects across all sectors including Cement, Power, Edible Oil, Railways, Solar Power Iron & Steel and also Residential & Commercial Buildings.
At the helm of affairs in Sudeshna, a dynamic business leader with over 20 years of experience in skill development and project management industry. She also brings to the table industry know-how pertaining to business development and in depth knowledge of project management, sales and marketing. A multifaceted personality, Sudeshna is also a talented theater actress. In a detailed conversation with the Women Entrepreneur India magazine, Sudeshna speaks to us about her professional expertise, PS Digitech’s growth journey and much more.
Tell us about the formative years of your life and the educational experience that you possess.
Born in Kolkata, I hail from a family of teachers. I grew up in that atmosphere for several years. I then went on to complete my formal education and completed a degree M.Sc. in Zoology. I also completed my B.Ed. and additionally also did a Masters in Computer Application. I was also selected for the Goldman Sacchs Entrepreneurship MBA from ISB.
was passionate about teaching, thus I chose to become a school teacher. I taught as a school teacher in Kolkata and Bangalore for over a decade. I have also worked as freelancer journalist in a renowned Bengali magazine named Sananda. However, life threw a few curve balls my way and I was faced with personal challenges. That is when I thought of doing something different with my life and eventually co-founded PS Digitech.

Introduce us to PS Digitech and the various facets that make the company unique. What led you to establish the company?
As luck would have it, I met Prosenjit Dutta, a fellow dreamer and an engineer by profession. I wanted to venture into the realm of entrepreneurship and we collectively decided to establish our own firm. I sold my ornaments and Prosenjit took a personal loan and started the company in 2006. My vision was to shape the soft-skill training industry and a proper Engineering
Service Industry.
The company today is a renowned name in the project management and engineering services industry. Knowledge being one of the company’s cornerstones we deliver projects safely and efficiently, while constantly redefining industry best practices. Managed by a team that comprises of well-trained project management professionals, one of our strength lies in the team’s multidisciplinary skills and a wide spectrum of experience. Built on the core values of honesty, integrity and transparency, the company aims to deliver world class project management and consultancy services, through forming close alliances with our clients. Throw some light on your expertise as a business leader and the role that you play in terms of leading PS Digitech.
Having co-founded PS Digitech in 2006, I have led the firm for the past 16 years as the Head of Business Development. I have overseen the rapid growth of the company from a small training unit to a strong global Project Management, Engineering Services & Training Company.
I am a Project management Professional, trained in Project Management and CADD, and specialize in project guidance, business negotiations, operations administration and client relationship management among others. Armed with a tough professional attitude I am a highly organized and detail oriented individual who exemplifies professionalism. My company possess the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at any given moment. Our strong leadership skill empower us to work with and manage people from varying backgrounds, while implementing team values.
