Healthcare systems increasingly demand leaders who can merge deep technical expertise with a clear purpose to enhance patient care. Ensuring fast, reliable response mechanisms is essential to improving safety and outcomes in critical environments. This calls for innovation grounded in real needs and practical execution, an approach that Sneha, Founder of Caring Bells, brings to life through her work.

Sneha, Founder of Caring Bells, is a driven entrepreneur with a strong foundation in electronics and a clear vision to improve healthcare communication. Leveraging her technical expertise, she has built solutions that reduce response time and enhance patient safety. Her focus on reliability, innovation, and real-world usability has positioned Caring Bells as a trusted provider of nurse call and emergency alert systems across healthcare and beyond.

Below is an excerpt of Sneha’s exclusive interaction with Women Entrepreneur Review magazine.

What initially drew you towards entrepreneurship? Were there any defining moments that shaped your decision to build a career in the healthcare industry?

My journey into entrepreneurship began during my early career when I was working with CAD systems, teaching students and supporting companies in circuit design and electronic development. During this time, I interacted with professionals who brought real-world circuit challenges, and that exposure helped me understand how technology could directly impact people’s lives. The defining moment came when I started exploring healthcare devices and noticed a clear gap between patient needs and response systems. Healthcare offered not just a business opportunity, but also a way to serve people meaningfully. That combination of purpose and innovation drew me strongly toward entrepreneurship in this sector.

What forms the underlying idea behind establishing Caring Bells? What’s the company’s core focus and how does it differentiate itself?

The core idea behind Caring Bells was simple yet powerful: reduce the gap between a patient’s call for help and the caregiver’s response. In many healthcare environments, delays in response can significantly impact patient safety and comfort. Our focus is to enable “care in a single click” through efficient nurse call systems, panic alert solutions, and communication technologies. What differentiates us is our emphasis on reliability, simplicity, and real-world usability. Our systems are designed to be easy to install, scalable, and suitable for both small clinics and large hospitals, with both wired and wireless options tailored to specific needs.

As Co-Founder and Managing Director, what are your key roles and responsibilities? How do you balance product innovation with reliability?

My role involves overseeing product development, business strategy, and customer engagement. I am deeply involved in designing solutions and ensuring they meet real-world requirements. In healthcare, reliability is non-negotiable, so while we continuously innovate, every product undergoes rigorous testing and refinement. We focus on building robust systems that perform consistently in high-pressure environments. Innovation is always aligned with practicality every feature we introduce must enhance efficiency without compromising stability.

What challenges have you faced in building a medtech company, and how did you navigate them?

Building in the medtech space comes with unique challenges, including strict quality expectations, long adoption cycles, and the need to earn trust from healthcare providers. As a woman entrepreneur, gaining credibility in a technically demanding industry also required persistence. One of the biggest challenges was bridging the gap between technical innovation and market acceptance. I navigated these challenges by staying focused on quality, continuously learning, and building strong relationships with clients. Demonstrating consistent performance and reliability helped us gain trust over time.

Looking back, what milestones stand out? What is your guiding “success mantra”?

Key milestones include successfully launching our ISO-certified systems, expanding into multiple industries beyond healthcare, and seeing our solutions actively improve response times in real environments. Another proud moment is building a “Made in India” brand that delivers high-quality technology. My success mantra is simple: stay consistent, focus on solving real problems, and never compromise on quality. Patience and continuous improvement are essential.

How do you foresee the future of intelligent safety infrastructure evolving? What trends will shape this transformation?

The future of safety infrastructure will be driven by intelligent, connected systems. We will see increased integration of IoT, real-time data analytics, and automation in healthcare environments. Systems will become more proactive rather than reactive predicting issues before they escalate. Wireless and hybrid solutions will gain prominence due to flexibility and scalability. Additionally, there will be a strong push toward user-friendly designs that require minimal training while delivering maximum efficiency.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?

Start with a problem worth solving. Focus on building solutions that create real impact rather than just chasing trends. Be prepared for challenges and stay consistent even when results take time. Most importantly, keep learning and adapting. Entrepreneurship is a journey of continuous growth.
