Shuchita Sancheti Garg
Founder, VVyom
Are women capable of leading organizations? Put forward this question, and they will surely prove that gender doesn’t matter to be a great leader. The current business world is defined by complexity, disruption, and change which desperately needs leaders with a holistic approach, diverse skill sets, multidimensional perspectives, and an empathetic mindset. Considering the several hats worn by women in their professional and personal life, they possess all the qualities to be a leader who integrates the view of people and profits.
In the cumbersome world, women are now seen to break through the glass ceilings to chase their dream of entrepreneurship. Leaders like Shuchita Sancheti Garg are not only uplifting their own business but, also inspiring several youngsters to not settle for less. Carving a niche for herself in Interior Textiles, she founded vVyom. With the intent of showcasing her significant contribution to the business sphere in Jaipur, Women Entrepreneur India engages in an interview with Shuchita.
Take Us Through Your Early Educational Journey & Prior Industry Experience. What Motivated You To Establish Vvyom?
I graduated with a degree in Interior Design from Parsons theNew School Design, New York. I passed out from the college with an Honours award for design work across Interiors, Architecture,Lighting, and Product in the School of ConstructedEnvironment. Born into a family involved in the textile business, I gainedan in-depth understanding of fabrics. Along with my childhood exposure to the family business, my academic learnings and thelove for art gave me a creative edge and a tasteful eye for aesthetics. Bringing my three passions together- Textile, Interior Design, and Art, vVyom- a new age Home Furnishings brand came into existence. The brand was started in 2018, when I was 23, with an itch to put my thoughts to play.
Give Us A Brief Overview Of Vvyom. What Are Some Important Features Of The Brand?
vVyom symbolizes the authenticity of design and the amalgamation of tradition with contemporary trends. We specialize in Soft Furnishings and Interior Textiles, and our offerings constitute the modern interpretations of traditionally cherished everyday products ideal for new-age homes. Our portfolio includes, quilts, bedcovers, blankets, upholstery fabrics, duvets, dohars, cushions, tableware, rugs & throws, lamps, wall arts, pocket squares, scarves, and corporate gifts.
A vVyom product story starts with a simple thought, a single brush stroke, a painting translating into home and lifestyle products. All prints at vVyom are original artworks by me, making people discover an extraordinary experience of design and furnishing that are in complete color harmony, connected by a symbiotic bond that helps transform your house into the work of an artist.
In Your Opinion, What Are Some Of The Most Significant Milestones That You Have Achieved Throughout Your Professional Journey?
It is a common human tendency to always thrive and perform better (than others), but the actual win is when you reflect on your journey and see how far you have come from where you began. It has been quite a journey, but I have nothing to complain about at all. The people I’ve worked with, the clients, the failures, the wins, and the opportunities have taught me a lot.
"An entrepreneur should Do all the tasks and wear Many hats, delegation Comes after you know The job yourself"
Speaking of tangible milestones, we have been acknowledged for our work by all the top leading design publications, both nationally and internationally from the nascent stage of our business. We have been fortunate to have editorial features in magazines like Vogue, AD, Elle, Elle Decor, India Today Home, Good Homes, Ideal Home & Garden, House & Garden UK, and LDB New York, to name a few. vVyom has also participated in all the top design shows in the country like Vogue Wedding Show, India Design ID, AD Design Show, and international trade fairs like NY NOW.
What Would Your Advice Be To Young Women And Girls Who Also Aspire To Become Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs In The Future?
It is okay to not know everything! The best way to learn is to simply dive in and be solution-oriented rather than getting overwhelmed by the challenges. Consistency is the only key to success. It is extremely important to know that there would be 'good' days and 'bad' days and not let the bad days overpower your consistency towards your work. Nonetheless, I believe that no work is small, and when the best opportunities knock at your door we should stay humble. There is no dearth of opportunities and platforms to showcase your work, so never shy away from showing your capabilities, we are living in very fortunate times.
