Handa Aesthetics and Plastics is one such clinic that offers top-notch plastic surgery for its patients.

The journey from planning to establishing a successful plastic surgery clinic like Handa Aesthetics and Clinics has been quite amazing for Dr.ShrutiMarwahHanda and her husband Dr. Arjun Handa. In conversation with Dr. Shruti MarwahHanda, Director, Handa Aesthetics and Plastics.

Tell us about Handa aesthetics and plastics.

My husband Dr. Arjun Handa and I founded this company a year back. It provides plastic and cosmetic surgery related services. Both of us being plastic surgeons have in-depth knowledge in the field and we work together to cater to every unique requirement of our patients in this niche space ranging from body, breast to face surgery.

We aimed to establish a center where every need related to plastic surgery can be taken care of with utmost proficiency and ease.  Started with one branch in the west part of the capital city, now we have been successful in opening our second branch in South Delhi as well.

Arjun has got his degree of plastic surgery from the Army Hospital, Delhi and I have taken my plastic surgery training from AIIMS, New Delhi.  At Handa Aesthetics and Plastics, we believe that either you are updated or outdated. Thus, we ensure to keep our centers well-equipped as per the current trends and practices in the plastic surgery space worldwide. We also endeavour to participate in academic activity by publishing articles and hence attempt to establish new frontiers.

Take us through your journey of becoming one of the most proficient plastic surgeons in India.

I have got all my degrees from Delhi. My father being a physician himself motivated me to explore the waters of the healthcare sector. Since childhood I have seen my father reading multiple books related to healthcare and eventually, quite naturally I built my interest into them as well and there was no looking back.

Although there are many sub-fields to choose from in the healthcare sector, I chose to be a plastic surgeon owing to the fact that from the very beginning I was in love with the environment of the operation theatres. They are quiet and serene and I am absolutely in love with peaceful surroundings and settings. The first time I entered one during my internship, I knew that this is exactly what I want, i.e to become a plastic surgeon.

Moreover, in OTs of plastic surgery, the surgeon keeps all the pressure and the adrenaline rush in his mind and keeps calm and peace on the outside. This is a skillset that I wanted to master and thus here I am. I specialize in facial cosmetic surgeries including rhinoplasty, face lift, eyelid surgeries, anti-ageing treatments pertaining to the face and more.

Share with us a few experiences you had before founding Handa Aesthetics and Plastics.

Right after we were done with our degrees and specializations as plastic surgeons, arjun and i founded Handa aesthetics and plastics.

We are learning everyday on our current journey and we are enriching ourselves and our skill sets with the day to day experiences that we gain from serving our patients. We both are striving to be the best in everything that we are offering currently.

What Were The Challenges You Faced And How Did You Overcome Them?

Initially when we founded Handa Aesthetics and Plastics, there were two challenges. One was to be able to build our practices aligned with the ethical standards in the sector and offer the best treatments and results to our patients. Secondly, as we started amidst the first lockdown it became quite difficult to steer our way through with the limited amount of marketing and advertising and still get patients, to sail through the situation unscathed.

However, once things started getting better, we found our way through and came out victorious.

Shruti Marwah Handa, Director, Handa Aesthetics And Plastics

Shruti Marwah Handa has completed her early education in Delhi and later got trained as a plastic surgeon from AIIMS, Delhi, one of the best institutes in the country. Her father has been a physician and that's what motivated Shruti to be in the healthcare sector. Before being trained as a plastic surgeon, she has also been trained in ENT & head and neck surgery and thus she is one of the handful surgeons in the country with these credentials.
