From a very young age, Riti Shah has been a true believer in getting things done that too in the most perfect manner. Living in a state of mind where she is always ready to learn, Riti never hesitated in doing any kind of work in her career’s journey so far. After working with various brands like OSMAN, Mary katrantzou, and Irynvigre, Riti Shah gained vast knowledge and experience within the industry. Her love for art and ability to express it through fashion made her establish her label RSR by Riti Rahul Shah in the year 2018. A graduate of prestigious fashion school Istituto Marangoni, London, Riti has interestingly interned at every season of London Fashion Week and Fashion Scout London and acquainted herself with every nitty and gritty skill required within the fashion industry. Her concept of backing her art with a related history topic and telling a story though it is the most unique feature of her label which has brought lots of laurels and recognition for her as well as for her company.

Riti Shah recently engaged in an exclusive interaction withWomen Entrepreneur magazine. The following is an excerpt from Riti’s conversation with Women Entrepreneur.

Tell us about more RSR by Riti Rahul Shah. What are some of the important attributes of your expertise that you bring to the table?

Tailored with the finest thread, RSR by Riti Rahul Shah is a fashion label that celebrates power in every individual. The garments made here bring back the expressions of the past with the essence of art in it to the present. Every feature of the garment represents months of research and lots of brainstorming is put to work before finalizing the design, thus making each one of them very unique from others. Our company strives to create garments by the highest standards of material as well as technology to deliver the finest quality bespoke pieces.

Tell us about your early education and industry experience? What inspired you to establish a fashion brand that celebrates the power in each individual.

I am a graduate of Instituto Marangoni, London, and have working experience with brands like OSMAN, Mary katrantzou, and Irynvigre. The various workshops that I have attended and my internships at every season of London Fashion Week amongst others helped me in acquiring a vast amount of knowledge and experience within the industry. I knew from a very young age that I want to build my fashion brand to express my art and also, relate art with history and tell a story out of it is what made me establish my label.

Describe your roles and responsibilities in your company as well as what challenges you face as a Founder and how do you overcome them?

As a founder, I have to maintain a balance between business work such as Sales, Marketing, Production, and more., and creative aspects of the business. Both things are equally important and demand equal focus on them which makes it a little difficult for me to give some extra time to things that I like to do. Learning to maintain the balance for hassle-free operation is the most rewarding skill I have learned as a founder.

What are the most remarkable achievements you accomplish in your professional journey? Tell us about your expertise in the fashion industry and how your prior industrial experience helped you as a founder?

The first and foremost achievement is starting my journey from Istituto Marangoni and working under various designers helped me gain the required skills and experiences. Further, with all my experience, we launched our own luxurious well-designed clothing label RSR in 2018. Since then, RSR was on the cover of Cosmopolitan and has been published and featured in multiple other international magazines such as Elle, Harpers Bazar, Vogue amongst many others. Some famous faces such as Anushka Sharma, Kajal Aggarwal, and others have donned RSR quite a few times.

Working under some of the brilliant designers has helped me in shaping my learning curve and every internship It hasalso taught me something new about the industry. Along the professional journey, I have also learned some life-changing things like being determined no matter how hard things seem in your current state and not being afraid of speaking up while staying humble being one of them.

How do you deal with continuous changes that occur in this industry and what advice you would like to give young professionals who are aspiring to become an entrepreneur someday?

Keeping yourself aware of the new comings is important but I have my niche and I have established the style of my craft. Instead of going gaga over new things I work on the betterment of my craft keeping client’s needs in my mind. My single advice to younger ones is to make mistakes and try multiple things unless and until you find your art and once you find it work hard upon it and make it your lifeline.
