Priya George: A Tech-Entrepreneur Unlocking AI's Potential To Overcome Business Challenges
Priya George
Co-founder, Sentient Scripts
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence has emerged as the technology best suited to addressing several critical business challenges. Well-designed AI platforms and solutions are capable of assisting businesses in processing rapid transition to new business models and markets. Technocrat Priya George identified the potential of AI and founded Sentient Scripts, along with Manjith S, a firm that focuses on the development of AI platforms and industry solutions.
Armed with a B Tech degree, Priya was in UST Global as the Offshore Delivery Head where she honed her technology and management skills. She is acknowledged for establishing an organization that specializes in developing solutions based on data science concepts and employing AI/ML to solve business problems.
In an in-depth interview with the Women Entrepreneur Magazine team, Priya shares with us her thoughts on leadership, and professional experience as an entrepreneur in the tech industry.
Give Us An Overview Of Sentient Scripts. What Are Some Of The Core Competencies That The Company Is Largely Known For?
Founded in 2017, Sentient Scripts specializes in developing artificially intelligent platforms and market solutions. I co-founded this company with Manjith S. The company's expertise is in developing solutions based on data science concepts and using AI/ML to solve business problems. It uses technology that allows any organization to detect signals, analyze them, and make recommendations, thereby completing the virtuous cycle of typical human cognition, analysis and then taking action. These AI platforms that are constantly learning, enable businesses to be aware of changing situations and flexible in their implementation.
A core competency of the organization is the ability to handle large volumes of data as well as transform this data to generate deep insights. We use algorithms to simplify decision making. The gut still has a place in decision making, but we provide mathematical reasons on why organizations should take certain decisions. An example would be, strikeoff how would they need to borrow to sustain their cashflows without getting into unnecessary debt. This is a mathematical problem, and we resolve the same using mathematical models, algorithms, and data models. We use robotic process automation and allied technologies to bring high levels of automation into business processes. Just think about the CEO of the company getting information on sales happening on the shop floor, changing patterns in customer buying, and strikeoff changing the discounts being offered. That's the power of AI driven autonomous processes. Among the AI competencies Sentient has are self-learning models and algorithms, association and classification, factorization and strikeoff regression models, and NLP engines for free text ingestion and other allied functions. Sentient has also developed an AI recruit assist platform called "PepHire".
“Growth is a by-product of successfully delivered services and products, and satisfied customers”
The platform enables companies to identify candidates they are looking for based on an AI based skillset match. The candidates looking for a job are coming into our platform from multiple channels. They can just drop their resumes at info@pephire, and our AI will connect with them to ensure they get hired to the company of their choice. We also provide short / or gig employment opportunities. Another product platform we have completed is for CFOs, "Curve" which enables the analysis of their cashflow and recommends borrowing and investment actions to be taken. The use of AI for decision making ensures no opportunity is lost, and risk of running out of cash is near zero. This platform is currently being used by government agencies, and close to $ 7 Billion, cashflow is being managed proactively over a 30-year period. We feel many government agencies need to use algorithmic analysis, and AI so that decision making is driven by math, and bias can be removed. This ensures development decisions are never biased and as a country we can move forward no matter who is in power.
Take Us Through Your Early Educational Journey And Prior Industry Experience That You Bring To The Table. What Led You To Establish Sentient Scripts?
I grew up and did my schooling in Muscat. I received my B.Tech from TKM College of Engineering in Kollam. Following that, I joined as a fresher in, UST Global and left as the Offshore Delivery Head. UST Global was an excellent company to begin my career because it was a small company with global ambitions.
My career began with mainframes. I enjoyed dealing with massive systems and applications that would manage extremely complex business processes. I was also provided with the opportunity to advance into leadership positions early. I enjoy building things and one of the greatest pleasures is seeing people use what we build. This fueled my desire to pursue my passion and launch Sentient Scripts as I knew this was where the market was heading towards, I had the passion for both the science and the execution of building.
How Does Your Prior Industry Experience Aid You In Leading Sentient Scripts Currently?
I earned a degree in technology and joined as a fresher. I moved into leadership and management positions fairly quickly. Then into client account management, and finally, when I chose to start Sentient Scripts, I was in charge of the new business delivery offshore, which is a large portfolio with various customer accounts that I had to make profitable and also grow on a yearly basis..
