Specializing in accounting, taxation, and allied outsourcing services, NPS India's objective is to reduce the burden of key non-core functions by managing them more efficiently, productively, and economically.

The company was founded when an opportunity to provide outsourcing services in India came across Parul Dujari Dubey, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of NPS India. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a commerce graduate from St.College Xavier's in Kolkata.

Parul comes armed with deep knowledge and vast experience in accounting, having contributed significantly to the compilation of financial structures at both the corporate and partnership levels. She also possesses expertise related to taxation.

The Women Entrepreneur Magazine team got the opportunity to conduct an in-depth interview with Parul Dujari Dubey. Through the conversation she took us along the foundational journey of the company and gave us a glimpse of the services offered.

Give Us An Overview Of NPS India. What Are The Various Service Areas That The Company Is Largely Known For?

NPS India is an Indian firm comprising a team of experienced and fresh talented workforce. We specialize in the field of Accounting, Taxation & Allied Outsourcing services with a motive of quality deliverables.

The company was established in 2018 to support the firms of Canada and US in the preparation and review of Corporate tax returns, (State Forms, International Forms, and other allied tax forms) and to prepare the personal tax returns for the full year residents apart from the regular operation and extensive support in the Bookkeeping services.

We are also exploring other outsourcing services such as accounts receivable Accounts Payable processing, payroll processing. We currently serve clients based in GTA as well as US. Bookkeeping is our core area of service along with data entry services.

Take Us Through Your Early Educational Journey And Prior Industry Experience That You Bring To The Table. Tell Us About Your Expertise As A Business Leader In The Finance Domain?

I graduated from St. Xavier's College in Kolkata with a bachelor's degree in commerce and went on to study Chartered Accountancy at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. I come from a business family, and I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur since my childhood. I was waiting for an ideal opportunity and I'm delighted that I've accomplished my dream by establishing Nuage Professional Services (India).

My expertise lies in finance, financial accounting, and financial analysis. I have been practicing public accounting with tax specialization and have gained extensive knowledge in the outsourcing services primarily in terms of Canada Tax and book-keeping services. I am a team player, constant learner and committed to excellence. I am also experienced in Income Tax and indirect tax related matters.

What Led You Towards Establishing An Out-Sourcing Firm, NPS India?

Before the accounting firms launched their outsourcing wing in India, they got their tax work and other accounting services, as well as data and related services, from their main offices in the United States and Canada. The notion of becoming an outsourcing partner arose from one of my friends who had previously worked for one such accounting firm, and I later learned the scope of growth for such services. When one of my common friends asked if I knew of any out-sourcing partners in India, I thought to myself, “Why not me?” and that's when I grabbed the opportunity that came my way and started NPS India with just that one client.

Tell Us About The Various Roles And Responsibilities That You Currently Shoulder At NPS India As The Co-Founder. What Are Some Of The Most Challenging Aspects Of Your Role And How Do You Overcome Them? 

I assist team members in the preparation of tax re-turns, Manufacturing & Processing Tax Credit, SR&ED, Branch Returns, Tax Provisions, GST/HST Returns, and mentoring cross-los members.

Since I'm the co-founder, in addition to the regular course of business, which involves bookkeeping and taxation, I'm in charge of all the operations. Being in a leadership role entails more than just telling others what to do; I work with my team and make sure we deliver the quality service. I'm in charge of operations, particularly in Canada. We adhere to our firm policy and don't cut corners when it comes to the quality of our deliverables.

For many entrepreneurs, starting a firm is a great achievement, but maintaining it is a greater challenge. Building a brand, developing a customer base, maintaining a customer base, and client retention are the most challenging tasks because in our industry, one wrong move might result in a great setback and may result in losing the clients.

Data security is a big challenge for us as we work on highly sensitive data. We work overseas, and building trust is a very important aspect for us. We have earned trust over the years, and that is something we cannot achieve overnight. Also, to mention we have been working round the clock to make sure the turnaround time for the client deliverables is met. Time management is extremely important in our industry and our clients expect us to meet the agreed deadlines so that they get benefit of their work to be done round the clock.

How Has Been The Growth Journey Of NPS India So Far?

NPS began in 2018 with just one client, whom we acquired through a mutual friend, but the number of clients has now grown exponentially. We began with the GTA and Edmonton, and are now expanding into British Columbia and other parts of Canada.

I am proud to say that we have grown at a 100 percent rate, which was only achievable due to the efforts of my team. We started by providing simply accounting services, but now our portfolio includes tax data services, consultancy, and back office support. These services will also be available in the Asia Pacific region.

However, we believe that these are just numbers, and that we should place a greater emphasis on the customer deliverable. So that we may provide the best service to our clients and meet their expectations. So far, NPS India has done well, and we are on track to meet our objectives.
