With 24 plus years of rich expertise, she forms the most accurate picture of an ardent, dedicated, and efficient leader. Over the years, she has also gained expertise in Banking Technology and designing innovative digital products, Fintech, and others. Women Entrepreneur India engages an exclusive conversation with Panchi to deduce more about her journey.

Take us through your early educational journey and prior industry experience. What drew you towards the field of technology?

Despite hailing from Electronics and Communication Engineering, I joined the software industry as a Java programmer. During my work, I pursued DOEACC-C Level certification (which is equivalent to M.Tech in Computer science) in correspondence mode. After a few years, when I grew up the ladder, I felt the need to pursue a Management program. Hence I did MBA in banking and finance from IGNOU. I also have an M.Sc-Psychology degree which I did as a hobby.

I have worked for 20 years in a public sector bank based in Chennai, predominantly in banking technology, where I had an opportunity to work in Alternate delivery channels like Internet banking, Mobile banking, Payment gateway, and various banking solutions.

To enrich my technical expertise, I did CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor) certification from ISACA, USA. I also completed a Diploma in Cyberlaw to have an overview of the IT Act 2000.

The progressive transformation in the Information Technology field was the main driver for me to lean my career towards technology. There is a new technology that springs out often, making work-life more challenging.  The rich experience with good fundamentals and the thirst for technology made me boldly face the technology industry.

What are your various roles and responsibilities at YesPanchi Tech Services? What are some of the most challenging aspects of your current role?

As the Managing director of YesPanchi Tech Services Pvt Ltd, my prime responsibility is to build a team aligning with the company's objectives. Another role is to obtain challenging projects in the emerging FinTech market and provide a facelift with the transformation and automation. The most challenging aspect is to pitch in big-ticket consultancy projects as a new startup, which I hope I should be able to crack soon.

Tell us about some of the most significant milestones achieved by you over the years. In your opinion, what are those facets of your personality or leadership style that have helped you achieve them?

Every project completion gives me new learning, which could be of what I should improve further or what I should not do in the future in project management. I have always understood the importance of teamwork from a different perspective at each milestone of my career. I would say that the important facet of my leadership is compassion. I understand the difficulties of the team members and give them a pause even during working hours when they are disturbed personally. Compassion towards the team always increases productivity. They have stood up with me at rough times, even at odd times of the day and weekends also.

“Panchi's ability to understand the difficulties of her team members and provide compassion towards them improves productivity while keeping the team happy and is truly inspiring”

How do you strike a balance between your professional and personal life? Are there any activities or hobbies that you like to indulge in as well?

Almost no personal phone calls during my professional time. The same is applicable during my personal time except during exigencies at either-ways.

I never miss my early morning meditation which keeps me emotionally balanced throughout the day and upkeeps my energy levels. I am a people lover and love to spend time with my friends, family, and kids. I connect with them often. I remember to wish all my close friends and family on their birthdays and anniversaries. I love to gift personalized gifts or pics or videos as well. We travel a lot as a family to remote places where tourists are very few. Marina beach in Chennai is my favorite spot which I keep visiting countless times. During my dull moments, I go to the beach to pep up my energy.

Reading books is my close to heart hobby. I love watching movies, listening to songs, and I have never watched any TV/web serials since I feel that takes up more time.

Friendly Words To Young Women

To all young girls and women, I wish to stress that Education and skilling yourselves is of prime importance. I feel that becoming an independent woman does not mean that you only become independent. Instead, an independent woman should take care of herself and try to assist and uplift her team, friends, and family.

Time management is another prime factor for the success of any woman in her profession. Every minute should be planned and spent judicially, which I have always followed. If I plan to take a rest for a few hours, it would be a complete rest. The same is applicable for my professional time too. Women who manage their time in a systematic manner will achieve success at all points of life.
