This progressive evolution finds a strong reflection in the journey of Nisha Chandra at 5C Network. Tell us about your professional journey across diverse roles and organizations, and which experiences were most instrumental in shaping your leadership expertise.

My professional journey spans CRM, sales and marketing, and extends into IT operations, security management, compliance, and technology governance, offering a comprehensive understanding of business and technology alignment. The most defining phase has been leading roles focused on building security and compliance frameworks from the ground up, requiring a balance between business priorities and regulatory and security needs. Managing teams, complex infrastructure, and compliance initiatives has strengthened my strategic thinking, collaboration, and decision making under pressure, ultimately shaping my leadership approach and enabling me to build resilient, future ready systems.

Introduce us to 5C Network and outline your key responsibilities as the Head of IT Security & Compliance.

5C Network is a leading Indian healthcare technology company transforming radiology workflows through AI driven platforms, working closely with hospitals and diagnostic centers to enhance efficiency and accessibility. As the Head of IT Security & Compliance, my primary responsibility is to ensure a secure, resilient, and compliant technology environment aligned with national and global standards. My role includes overseeing cybersecurity frameworks, driving compliance programs, managing risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory adherence. I collaborate with cross functional teams to embed security into technology, products, and services, while also fostering a strong culture of security awareness and responsible technology usage across the organization.

My personal success mantra is to keep learning, stay curious, and embrace challenges as opportunities, as continuous improvement naturally leads to success

What are your priority areas for maintaining compliance at 5C Network, and how do you ensure seamless operations while supporting growth?

In a technology driven organization like 5C Network, compliance and innovation must progress together. My focus is to ensure security and compliance frameworks actively support growth rather than limit it. Key areas include strengthening cybersecurity posture, implementing global compliance standards, ensuring robust data protection, and continuously monitoring risks across the technology ecosystem. Simultaneously, I collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to embed security into development and workflows. A proactive approach to risk management, supported by automation, enables sustained compliance while ensuring uninterrupted operations and scalable growth.

What key challenges have you faced in your leadership role, and how did you successfully navigate them?

One of the primary challenges in security and compliance leadership is balancing rapid innovation with effective risk management, ensuring strong governance without slowing progress. Another challenge lies in building organization wide awareness and aligning diverse teams on the importance of security. I addressed these by prioritizing collaboration, clear communication, and continuous learning. By fostering strong cross functional partnerships and promoting shared responsibility, I helped embed security into everyday operations, creating a culture where compliance becomes a collective and sustained effort.

Looking back on your journey, which milestones stand out, and what is your personal success mantra?

One of the most significant milestones has been contributing to the development of strong security and compliance frameworks in high growth technology environments, enabling governance alongside innovation. Another key achievement is being recognized as a leader in risk and compliance, especially in a space where women’s representation is still evolving. My personal success mantra is to keep learning, stay curious, and embrace challenges as opportunities, as continuous improvement naturally leads to success.

As someone deeply involved in IT and security, how do you see the IT security landscape in India evolving, and what key trends will shape its future?

India’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem is elevating cybersecurity and compliance as strategic business priorities rather than purely technical functions. A major trend is the growing adoption of AI and automation to enhance threat detection and response capabilities. There is also increasing focus on data protection, privacy regulations, and stronger governance frameworks. In sectors like healthcare and digital services, security will become deeply embedded into product development and operations. The future of cybersecurity in India will be driven by innovation, collaboration, and a rising presence of women leaders shaping the industry.
