As India continues to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge technology innovation, we’re witnessing an increasing number of women professions in India come into limelight and assume key leadership positions across diverse tech areas.

Through sheer perseverance, deep domain expertise, and exceptional business management & decision-making skills, these highly proclaimed women are steering their organizations towards the pinnacles of success and making their mark not just in India but at a global level. Mousami Apte is one such leader in the Oceania region driving innovation through her expertise in business operations, technology-led transformation, and financial services.

Her technology-forward approach and strong understanding of strategic business challenges have enabled her to deliver impactful transformation outcomes for organizations in an increasingly digital world.

A Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience across diverse business and consulting roles, Mousami Apte observed a recurring challenge faced by many organizations, while strategic ideas were often well-conceived, execution frequently stalled due to fragmented systems, disconnected workflows, and data silos.

Recognizing this gap, and inspired by the rapid evolution of technology, she expanded Finivis Solutions’ capabilities to include AI-enabled business transformation services focused on improving operational efficiency, streamlining workflows, and enabling smarter decision-making through scalable AI solutions.

Below are a few key excerpts from the exclusive interview.

Throw some light on the key factors that led Finivis to foray into the AI realm from traditional core banking?

As Generative AI became increasingly mainstream over the past few years, I realized that modern engineering was evolving beyond traditional programming towards the intelligent orchestration of systems, workflows, and decision-making processes.

This shift sparked my interest in exploring how the convergence of business intelligence and advanced technologies could be leveraged to address complex operational and execution-related challenges faced by organizations.

What further reinforced this belief was the rapid evolution of AI infrastructure, which became significantly more accessible due to advancements in computing capabilities and a substantial reduction in implementation costs.

This democratization of AI opened the door for businesses of all sizes to adopt automation and intelligent workflows at scale. Recognizing the transformational potential of this shift, I decided to expand Finivis’ capabilities beyond traditional consulting and establish AI-enabled solutions as one of the company’s core strategic offerings.

At finivis, our vision is to build a future where AI-enabled solutions are not merely ‘add-ons’ but are deeply integrated into everyday workflows

Tell us about more about Finivis Solutions, along with the vision and mission that it embodies.

At Finivis, our vision is to build a future where AI-enabled solutions are not merely ‘add-ons’ but are deeply integrated into everyday workflows. We want to accelerate the speed of execution while quietly operating behind the scenes as the invisible engine that solves complex business problems and converts high-level strategy into tangible outcomes.

What personally drives me is the belief that time is the most constrained resource for both individuals and organizations. Too much of it is lost to friction whether that’s caused by inefficient systems in businesses or unnecessary complexity in everyday processes.

Our objective is to reduce that friction using intelligent, accessible software solutions. Today, our work spans across AI Strategy & Assessment, Agentic AI Development, Process Automation, and Data & Analytics.

As an innovation-led finance leader, share your piece of advice to businesses aspiring to implement AI in the near future.

Despite the ongoing buzz around AI, businesses should avoid allowing hype to dictate their transformation roadmap. Rushing into AI implementation without a clearly defined purpose often leads to what many refer to as “pilot purgatory” where solutions appear impressive during development and testing phases but fail to scale effectively within live business environments.

The priority should always be data and process readiness. Proprietary data is one of an organization’s most valuable assets, and before investing in new AI tools or technologies, businesses must focus on standardizing processes and cleaning legacy data to build a strong operational foundation.

Equally important is prioritizing people over technology. Organizations should maintain transparent communication with teams, positioning AI as a co-pilot designed to eliminate repetitive manual tasks and free up time for more strategic, high-value work, rather than as a replacement for human expertise.

Most importantly, businesses must recognize that AI implementation is a long-term journey. The true return on investment is rarely realized through the first tool or feature launched; instead, it emerges over time through compounded operational efficiencies, continuous adoption, and the proprietary insights gained from sustained usage.

What does the future hold for AI in finance? Also, how do you plan to position Finivis around this transformation?

With AI already reshaping the way finance businesses operate, organizations of the future are expected to become significantly more agile, data-driven, and execution-focused. At Finivis, we believe the role of AI is not just to automate processes, but to expand human capability.

Our focus is on designing AI systems that act as intelligent copilots helping professionals simplify complex workflows, make faster and smarter decisions, and ultimately enable organizations to operate with greater clarity and efficiency.

As we continue to work closely with businesses across industries, we are identifying recurring operational challenges and common execution gaps. This is shaping our evolution from a purely consulting-led model towards a more scalable, solution and product-driven approach.

Over time, our vision is to productize these insights into accessible AI-powered solutions that can support small and mid-sized businesses at scale.
