Competently handling sophisticated algorithms, Dr. Rashi Gupta is efficiently providing technical assistance to her corporate clients.

Dr. Rashi Gupta is a Master’s degree holder from IIT Delhi and a Ph.D holder from the European Graduate School in Data Analytics. She is a skilled leader and holds expertise in areas like data mining and complex data management. Co-Founder of Rezo.ai, Dr. Rashi Gupta recently engaged in a one-on-one interactive session with the Women Entrepreneur Magazine, here’s the highlight.

Tell us about your educational background and professional journey. What are your features as the leader in Data Science?

I pursued a double master's degree from IIT Delhi in mathematics and computer applications as I am passionate about data and information processing. I worked on genomics data for a year at the University of Helsinki in Finland, after receiving my master's degree. My hard effort earned me a Ph.D offer from the European Graduate School in Data Analytics on Complex Data (application of ML/AI/ Bayesian Methodology), which resulted in nine papers in prestigious international journals. After receiving my Ph.D, I went back to India and started working at JNU as an assistant professor. I assisted AbsolutData and WNS Global in establishing their ML/AI practice and creating their first data-powered solution. Data is persuasive because facts supported by data leave little scope for speculation or misunderstanding. I try to grasp topics more thoroughly and look at supporting evidence while examining situations in both the personal and professional spheres.

What was the underlying idea behind establishing Rezo.ai and what are the special features that make it unique?

Businesses all over the world invest in providing their clients with the finest experience as it is crucial. Sadly, despite the efforts, consumer complaints get unaddressed and the experience is still negatively impacted globally. A detailed examination of the background and the data made it clear that the problem was multifaceted, poor CX was caused by outdated technology, disconnected platforms that impeded information flow, and undertrained human agents.

I founded Rezo with my co-founder Manish Gupta, who has a background in technology and products, to address the issue of the broken customer experience and to offer a productized solution to revamp the call centre industry. We invested a good two years in creating an enterprise-grade product with widespread usage and scalability. Currently, our product has features which are, Powerful NLU and NLP Engine, State-of-the-Art Tech Stack, Nocode Unified Platform, Proprietary Number Crunching Methodologies and Centralized Mails and Automated Reporting.

What are the roles and responsibilities you currently shoulder as the Co-founder of Rezo.ai? How do you overcome the challenges related to your role?

As the Chief Growth Officer and Chief Data Scientist, I participate in daily operations. As part of my duties, I look after sales and marketing, developing the Rezo brand, and finding new industries & regions. Managing large teams is always uncertain and stressful, but the thing that has helped me is constantly being on the receiving end and interacting with leaders in my network and industry experts. This enabled me to constantly learn new skills, mindsets, and other traits that have always propelled me in the right direction.

What are the major milestones achieved in your career? What role does your Alma Mater IIT Delhi play in your professional success?

Academically, I’ve gained expertise in data mining and developing statistical & computational strategies for handling complex data sets. Being a proud achiever of a Double Masters from IIT Delhi, and a Ph.D. from the University of Helsinki, Finland, I have developed models which have been published in world-renowned journals. After starting Rezo.ai back in 2018, our efforts have been recognized and featured by BW Disrupt (Technology Women Entrepreneur of the year 2022), AI Challenge 2020 (Atmanirbhar Bharat), and Maruti Mail (Runner-up, 2019) on the professional front.

As for my Alma Mater, I believe it has played a huge role in setting up a strong foundation and the right path for success. The IIT-D curriculum pushes you to deal with the stress and molds you into a go-getter. In addition to this, it has given me a solid network of alumni friends, including VCs, founders, and top executives which you can go to for any mentoring, discussions, and suggestions.

What advice would you provide to young women and girls who also want to be business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

Try to gain as much exposure and breadth as you can in the early years of your study as you try to discover your interests. Instead of limiting oneself to a single or two difficulties, young brains should attempt to be exposed to as many topics as possible. This early education will enable one to take big decisions in difficult situations. So, the crux of all of this is, to dive deeper and dream big, so go for it.
