Take us through the formative years of your life. What key influences played a pivotal role in shaping your life’s trajectory?

My formative years were shaped by my parents, teachers, and the academic environments I was part of. My parents instilled in me three core values, commitment to excellence, strong ethics, and humility - forming the foundation of my life.

Growing up in Mumbai, I studied at Ruparel College and later at GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, where I was exposed to exceptional mentors and peers. These experiences refined my thinking and approach to medicine.

Early opportunities, including co-authoring a book chapter, further strengthened my journey, guided by values, environment, and consistent hard work.

What inspired you to pursue medicine and eventually specialize in fertility care?

Becoming a doctor was always a deeply rooted aspiration. I was naturally inclined towards biology and driven by a desire to connect with people and help alleviate their fears and challenges. Medicine felt like the most meaningful way to do that.

My decision to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology stemmed from a strong connection to women’s health. I witnessed firsthand the struggles many women faced due to lack of awareness and preventive care. I felt compelled to contribute meaningfully to this space.

Fertility care, particularly IVF, came into focus later. At the time, it was an emerging and almost magical field. The first time I saw an embryo under the microscope, it felt like witnessing a miracle.

The ability to create life outside the body, something so scientific yet profoundly emotional - drew me in. It offered a unique blend of science and soul, allowing me to contribute to one of the most significant aspects of human life - parenthood.

Introduce Xenith Advanced Fertility Centre and the philosophy behind it.

Xenith Advanced Fertility Centre was built on the idea of combining clinical excellence with compassionate care. The name itself reflects this philosophy - ‘Xenos,’ meaning to care for a stranger with warmth and empathy, and ‘Zenith,’ representing the highest level of excellence.

When we established the centre, the vision was to bring international standards of fertility care under one roof, while ensuring personalized, patient-centric treatment. At a time when single-specialty centers were not as common, we focused on creating a comprehensive ecosystem, right from advanced IVF laboratories to specialized teams including embryologists, andrologists, counselors, and nutrition experts.

We ensure that patients receive not only the best in medical science but also a comfortable, supportive environment that feels like home.

As the Founder and Director, how do you balance operational excellence with patient care?

At my core, I am a clinician, so patient care and outcomes remain my top priority. Achieving operational excellence, however, depends on building a strong, capable team. At Xenith, specialists across departments uphold high standards, ensuring efficiency and seamless functioning.

This allows me to focus on clinical excellence. Our growth is a testament to patient trust; the majority of our patients come through referrals from families whose lives we have touched. We also emphasize continuous learning through regular meetings and conferences, ensuring our team stays updated and aligned with the latest advancements.

Looking back, what milestones stand out, and what is your guiding success mantra?

Some defining milestones include being among the first in India to formally train in reproductive medicine and choosing to specialize exclusively in infertility at a time when it was not the norm. Establishing IVF programs and later building Xenith into a nationally recognized center have been deeply fulfilling achievements.

However, the most meaningful milestones are the successes we achieve for patients who come to us after multiple failed attempts elsewhere. Each success story reinforces our purpose.

My guiding mantra is simple, stay committed to excellence, remain grounded in ethics, and never lose sight of the human story behind every case. In fertility care, it is essential to balance science with compassion. That combination is what truly creates impact.
