With a passion for Media and Entertainment, Anuja Choudhary got big exposure at the Delhi University Students Union where she was elected as the President of the film society. She then moved to Mumbai, to start her career with enterprise Nexus in the Account Planning department. In the Initial years of her PR career, she got to handle strategic counseling for iconic brands like Coca-Cola, Bacardi India, and Cadbury to name a few. Quite early in her career, she was heading PR for Universal Music India profiling numerous artists and music talent before she started her entrepreneurial journey.

Her entrepreneurial expedition started in 2009 when she Launched BrandSPk PR and soon about two years later she partnered with Wizcraft and co-founded Wizspk Communication and PR. WizSPK today boasts of being listed in the top 25 PR agencies in India today. In a recent interaction with Women Entrepreneur Magazine, Anuja Choudhary shared insights of her journey and the success story of Wizspk Communication and PR.

Anuja, what motivated you to find Wizspk Communication and PR? Tell us about the services and the brands you have worked with?

My entrepreneurial Journey took off about 12 years back, when I felt the need for a Brand Consultancy that would give strategic PR Councelling. I believe everything has a story, any product, any service or even a tiny element of Design has a story. They need creative and effective storytellers, narrating and driving conversations.

We have had the privilege to work with numerous leading brands across verticals. Handling brand building and reputation management for Global brands such as - Schindler India, Karcher India, and Parle India to name a few. Representing destinations like MGTO, Turkey Tourism, and Yas Island in the India Market. Consumer brands, Entertainment and Lifestyle, Travel, and Hospitality being our strong portfolio.

What are the various responsibilities you shoulder as the Co-founder of the firm? What are your primary focus areas in terms of leading Wizspk Communication and PR?

To ensure consistent growth for the company, not just the revenue and profits but the kind of brands we partner with and the campaigns we deliver.

Currently, my primary focus area is team mentorship. Grooming versatile PR and marketing professionals because it is great to see professionals who have worked with Wizspk being considered as allround PR Strategists skilled and meticulous with their way of working and thinking - and that is the biggest compliment for us and my leadership team.

What are some of the most significant milestones that you have achieved during your professional journey? What would you consider the driving force behind your success as a business leader?

Founding a PR start-up in 2009 which was recognized for delivering some good work in the Fashion and Lifestyle space in a short span of two years. In 2012, Wizspk won the gold and Diamond Sabre for the campaigns we delivered in the first year of its inception. We have been recognized and awarded for delivering creative and impactful campaigns for our brand Partners consistently last 10 years.

Only a decade into the Business – Wizspk is recognized among the TOP 25 Indian Agencies in India at a prestigious communication award ceremony.

And most importantly, when you have brand partners working with you for over a decade, that is your most motivating element , the most satisfactory and the biggest milestone I would say.

Anuja, for the years to come, what is your vision for Wizspk Communication and PR’s growth in the future?

Wizspk should be able to enjoy a competitive advantage by aligning best practices, more partners, ideas that show impactful results, and team growth where each one learns and grows to the best of their abilities.

What would be your advice to young women and girls who also aspire to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

If we find purpose in what we do, our job is done, I had heard it somewhere and I believe in this. So, my advice would be to 'Work Hard every day. Don’t let criticism and failures affect you. Success will find its way'.

Anuja Choudhary completed her bachelor's in politics from Delhi University and her PGADCOM in Advertising & Communication from EMPI B School. Before co-founding Wizspk, she worked with Universal Music Group and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
